I can't imagine it would be worth it to them to do CEs of the Jaws sequels considering they were just released on BD a little over a year ago which probably sucked up most of the demand for them. Then again, they've been doing collector's editions of a lot of movies I wouldn't have thought it would be profitable for them to do, so what do I know.

The People Under the Stairs was released by Scream Factory 11 months after the Universal release. Assuming Scream Factory could put together a decent supplements package I'm sure they'd sell just fine.

Scream Factory's site is now listing their upcoming ATTACK OF THE PUPPET PEOPLE BD as being in 1:85-1, after initially listing it as being academy ratio.

Love the artwork for Misery!

The foot with the wedge just barely visible? Awesome. Getting more and more excited for this release with every bit of news that's coming out!

I wish. The DVD's had better extras than the Blus! (at least the ones I have). Or a boxset with all four, Still Screaming/that other documentary I forget the name of. I'd buy!

Don't plan on buying it but that Misery cover is definitely one of their better ones. Thumbs up to Shout for that one.

Misery cover looks great. Can't wait to see what they come up with for Cyborg. Hopefully, they work the split scene in the sewer, into the cover.

The sewer split scene is quite possibly the single most bad ass scene of JCVD's entire career.

Hi. I'm looking to expand my Scream Factory collection a bit. Are there any IFC Midnight releases that you would recommend? I know these releases are mainly low budget and your mileage may vary with these. I am not a big fan of Babadook, but are there any outside of that one that stand out? I've seen some good things about Autopsy of Jane Doe and Beyond the Gates? Any thoughts on those? Any others?

Because I live in the area, I did buy Villisca Axe Murders. I actually kind of liked it. I wish they'd have done more with the 1912 story to pad the 78 minute run time, but it had its moments.

I tend to skew towards slasher and paranormal type horror if that helps.

Beyond the Gates is not nearly as good as some folks will have you believe. I wanted to like the film so badly upon my initial viewing but it really fell short in a variety of ways. It's not terrible, but it's not a top recommendation that much is for sure. I myself liked it enough that I still plan to pick it up eventually, however I wouldn't recommend spending much over $10 for it.

The Autopsy of Jane Doe is an effective film that stumbles in it's 3rd act and falls into predictable horror tropes. It suffers slightly as a result but is still a fun film that the majority of folks seem to enjoy, myself included. That one is a pretty safe buy.

Baskin is a crazy, crazy film that is more in line with what the average horror fan that frequents this board would enjoy I feel. It doesn't seem to have very many people that have checked it out, but I thought it was great. It's bizarre, gory, and a bit shocking. It's a Turkish film so it is subtitled, so perhaps that's why folks have avoided it, but I compared much of it to what the Hellraiser film franchise should have become with the later sequels instead of what they ended up becoming. This one can be had for only $12 at Hamiliton Books.

For me personally I think the Human Centipede Trilogy is an easy purchase if you don't already own any of them. The first film is a pretty decent horror effort... the 2nd film is one of the more disturbing films I've ever seen and is not for the faint of heart. The third film is crap but worth a watch if you watched/enjoyed the first two entries, so the trilogy is worth a look if you can get it for around $30.

Shelley is a cool film if not something completely different than your usual horror release. This film plays out very reminiscent of Rosemary's baby. It's made in such a way however that you never are quite sure, even in the end, as to whether what was implied was actually real or whether the lead character was simply crazy. It's a subtle smart film that relies far more on atmosphere than special effects. It does have a few really nice effects however, including one with a knitting needle which will leave you wincing.

Finally, though it's not released yet, the Poughkeepsie Tapes might be worth a look on release. It's a very amateur effort that has a better reputation than it should due to being shelved for so many years, however it does have several unsettling segments and is an interesting release for a variety of reasons.

If you're looking for good Independent Horror Recommendations check out the leak in my signature for a thread here on site. Lots of good stuff in that thread. Check the first page for a rundown on what people enjoy.

Am I the only one who did not like Babadook? I didn't find it remotely scary. The kid drove me nuts. I love horror movies and can sit through anything horror but I found it dreadful.

I didn't like it much either. I thought it was pretty overrated.
