• Official street date is January 30th, 2018 for U.S. and Canada territories (Region A).
• It will be branded as a “Collector’s Edition” that will come with a slipcover (guaranteed for three months after its original release date)
• The newly-commissioned artwork pictured comes to us from the CRP Group (Firestarter, Rabid, Species). This art will be front-facing and the reverse side of the wrap will the original theatrical poster art design.
• Extras and specs are still in progress and will be announced at a later date. However, we can confirm that we will be doing a brand new HD film transfer!

So that just leaves The Strangers and Drag Me to Hell as the only unscheduled titles now. I wouldn't mind seeing those arrive February or later so we can perhaps get a couple of surprise titles in January. Hell Night and the second Naschy volume aside (both of which we kind of knew about already) I don't believe we've seen anything new announced since SDCC. I wonder if they'll do something big for Halloween? They announced 10 titles last year IIRC.

Just posted on their Twitter page they're having an October sale starting the 9th. How are these sales usually as compared to what they had in June? Kind of want to order some through DD now but I may wait.

The Sale in June was a first of it's kind and the best Scream Factory has ever offered. It's the outlier. Sales before that one for the last 2 years or so were pretty so-so. There have been a few decent years for sales but nothing like what we saw in June though. My advice is to just go back through the thread and search for the previous conversations regarding the sales. My guess is that there will be several pages devoted to each years sales. Just go back through the pages looking for October 2016/15/14/13.

When a Shout title goes on sale at a price you're comfortable with, buy it then, don't wait for the next sale. Their sales are unpredictable, and often seem to apply to randomly selected titles.

I've seen a lot of movies but funny enough I've never seen Cyborg. That cover sure makes me want to though!

It's one hell of a terrific action thriller. If you enjoy any of Van Damme's films in the slightest (or even if you don't) I really believe you will highly enjoy Cyborg. Violent, dark, exciting and incredibly fast paced.

It's an fine cover, but everytime I see artwork digitally painted, it reminds me of excessive DNR. I prefer physical paint and illustration. Still, should be a great release.

I hope Shout! gives Death Warrant (1990), Lionheart (1990), Double Impact (1991) & Hard Target (1993) the Special Edition treatment.

**NEW TITLE ANNOUNCEMENT **

Look what’s swimming to Blu-ray this in 2018. PIRANHA II: THE SPAWNING – Director James Cameron’s first feature film from 1981 – will be landing on January 30th in the U.S. and Canada and we have some early details for you today!

• This will be branded as a “Collector’s Edition” that will come with a slipcover (guaranteed for three months after its original release date)

• We are implementing a change of our normal practice regarding the artwork strategy on this one. Normally we would commission a new illustrated piece and then provide the original theatrical poster on the reverse. In this case, the already-existing illustrated international key art that you see featured here (which was also used for the domestic VHS release) was so pitch perfect and iconic to the film that we felt it would be a challenge to try to improve upon so we made an exception here. Plus, the theatrical U.S. poster also had a cool design that we wanted to use as well somehow…so that image will be on the reverse. (Image in the thread below)

• Extras and specs are still in progress and will be announced at a later date. However, we can confirm that we will be doing a brand new HD film transfer (finally presented in its proper aspect ratio) and it is the uncut version that was previously seen on the previous DVD release.

Pre-order now directly from our website @ https://www.shoutfactory.com/product...roduct_id=6519 to get the product two weeks early from national street date plus you’ll receive a free collectible 18” x 24” rolled poster reproduction of the front-facing international key art.

So... clearly, this means they now have a deal with Sony. What could be next?

Happy Birthday to Me?
The Boogeyman?
Nightwing?

Dare I say... Candyman?

No deal with Sony. We licensed directly from the overseas partners on this.
Oh well.

Interesting thing about them licensing Piranha II from someone other than the US distributor. It's almost as if they're stepping on Sony's toes Anyway, very happy about this. I always liked this movie, as silly as it may be.

What annoys me is that my understanding of it is that Sony has the rights to James Cameron's cut of the film. Not including that drastically reduces my interest in this title.

Yeah but isn't it a shorter cut? In an ideal world we'd get both cuts but if I had to choose, I'd pick the cut that wasn't re-edited after the fact.

Wow, that's a surprise. I love what they said about the artwork... they're correct, I don't see how it could be improved upon.
