This. I think they're cool but really don't care that much anymore. The ones that annoy me most would be like Sleepaway Camp, if I had 2/3 (luckily for those I have them all). In the end, I'm in it for the movies more than the packaging.

Anybody know what's going on with matinee? I Got a notification from amazon.com that the release date had changed to September 2018. the listing is now unavailable but my pre-order was not cancelled.

And it looks like the shout website says January.

The stress of collecting slipcovers for these CE releases is killing me. Overpaying on ebay to get a copy with slip, when I could be getting three films for that price. Trying to decide if I want Scream's CE's that month or to hold off... but for how long?

Anyway, I'm considering selling them all (the slipcovers) on ebay and just going with the original artwork side displayed in clear cases. I think that'd be a way to keep my weird collector's OCD in check without all the added pressure. It's cheaper in the long run probably, and I could use the money from the older title's slipcovers to buy the cases.

But I don't know if I can essentially part with such a prized slice of my home video collection so easily. So I want a second opinion.

What do you guys think? Has anyone done something similar? Anyone else considering removing Scream Factory slips from the equation altogether too? I'm genuinely curious about others collector's mindset and how you guys view this situation I've got myself in.
I did this years ago and haven't thought of it since.

I couldn't care less about slipcovers and MUCH prefer original art anyway.

Although, I do like Vinegar Syndrome's slips and have so far collected and kept all of them.

As far as Scream Factory goes? I've got probably 200 of their discs and not a single slip cover in sight. I think they look much, much better without them.

I used to hate slip covers. As long as art work matched the slip, I used to just toss the slip covers in the recycling. In recent years slip covers have grown on me to the point of wanting them all the time if offered.

Good news first: The last release was featuring a German VoD master with original text blurred and new (German) text superimposed. We've already fixed this and acquired the proper int'l master. Nice side effect: It's a few generations fresher than the current release as well (less grain, defects).

The films past is a little bit troubled, being a Polygram Filmed Entertainment title. Originally licensed to Sony for 25 for distribution it's now come back to Universal. This means the material situation is a little bit special as the only unrated source was a German VHS master produced by a company that no longer has the rights.

We've already enquired with Sony, but this might take some time and we've got no idea if a) the print was archived or b) the VHS master (open matte, full frame, SD only) was archived.

So before we continue and, worst case, only have the unrated shots (just a handful, but hey... still unrated) as a bonus section...

Does someone know of a source for such unrated version? Maybe it's been screened at some festival? Maybe some fan owns a 35mm print?

Again, we're also checking labs and vaults, but it can't hurt so say what we're after so please spread the word.

Thanks!

Really can't wait to see what Shout announces for Halloween.

Hopefully they do 10 or more titles again like they did last year.

I'm still ever hopeful that they dig deep in the MGM vaults for some more unreleased titles. Also hoping for more Universal titles.

I'm hoping for titles such as

Full Moon High
Rockula
Enemy Territory
The Dark Tower
The Tomb
Badlanders
Gor/ Gor II
Neon City
Robot Holocaust

Hoping for these dvd's to be upgraded to bluray

Buried Alive
konga
The Calling
Wicked Stepmother
No Escape(1995)
Invasion of the Star Creatures
Alien From LA

Also hoping they announce either through Scream or Shout these

The Barbarians
America 3000

Honestly if they announce any of these, I'd be happy!

Either way, I'm usually happy with their output.

A comprehensive Terminator release would be a cool announcement, if a distant possibility. Same goes for more Morgan Creek stuff like Pacific Heights and Freejack.

No Escape is one that I'm really hoping drops. My non-anamorphic DVD has been around my collection too long now.

Curtis Harrington's GAMES (1967) confirmed:

Quote:
**NEW TITLE ANNOUNCEMENT**

Happy early Halloween! We have a bunch of new titles to reveal today that will land in February. First up is the cunning psychological film GAMES from 1967 and directed by Curtis Harrington (What’s the Matter with Helen? Who Slew Auntie Roo?). James Caan (The Godfather, Misery), Katharine Ross (The Graduate, The Legacy) and Simone Signoret (Room At The Top, Diabolique) star.

Paul (Caan) and Jennifer (Ross) are a pair of wealthy Upper East Side socialites who like to amuse themselves by playing twisted and occasionally sadistic mind games. But when a mysterious woman (Signoret) shows up at their door and begins to exhibit uncanny psychic abilities, the rules change … and the stakes become higher – and deadlier – than ever before.

All-new HD transfer is planned.

National street date is February 13th. However, if you pre-order now directly through us @ https://www.shoutfactory.com/product...roduct_id=6532 to have the item ship two weeks early!

Joseph Sargent's COLOSSUS: THE FORBIN PROJECT (1970) announced:

Quote:
**NEW TITLE ANNOUNCEMENT**

More title reveals today. Up next is the 1970 sci-fi thriller COLOSSUS: THE FORBIN PROJECT from 1970! First time on Blu-ray and stars Eric Braeden (The Young and the Restless) and Susan Clark (Porky’s).

The ultimate computer creates the ultimate terror in this chillingly real suspense tale. When electronics genius Charles Forbin creates a massive computer complex that is capable of independently regulating the national defense of the United States, it appears that no enemy will ever be able to penetrate its sovereign borders. But such a promising thought turns into a stunning nightmare when it's discovered the Russians have built an equally sophisticated computer and that these two "doomsday machines" have linked, sharing classified information and top secrets. Desperately, Forbin and his Soviet counterparts try to stop the all-knowing "monster" computers from seizing command of the world's nuclear missile stockpiles.

National street date is February 27th. However, if you pre-order now directly through us @ https://www.shoutfactory.com/p…/colo...project… to have the item ship two weeks early!
