Some cool announcements today. I'm in for all 4. Really surprised by Gate II, I thought that might be one that would never get a Blu-ray. Currently only a Canadian DVD exists to my knowledge.

Possibly, but it would shed some light on why Sony hasn't released a Blu-Ray release of it's own in any territory.

Always down for more William Castle! And I have never heard of Games, but it looks promising.

Count me in for Games, The Night Walker, and Colossus: The Forbin Project.

I might end up owning Gate II at some point in the future as well if I visit the Scream Factory site while I'm really bored.

Great line-up for February. The post-60s Universal well isn't far from being dry now (re-releases aside). I make it:

Let's Kill Uncle (another William Castle title and no DVD release)
Burned at the Stake (AKA The Coming) (if this is still with Universal)
Bullies
No Escape

Lost Highway (likely with Criterion)
Terror Tract
Long Time Dead

My Little Eye
Cry Wolf
Altered
The Hitcher
Whisper

I have to think we'll see most of the above this year the way they're going. There's also Universal TV movies, but I'm not sure if Scream are that interested in those. Notable ones include:

Dark Intruder (1965)
Fear No Evil (1969)
Ritual of Evil (1970)
A Howling in the Woods (1971)
The Devil and Miss Sarah (1971)
The Screaming Woman (1972)
Scream, Pretty Peggy (1973)
Trapped (1973)
Maneater (1973)
Frankenstein: The True Story (1973)
The Questor Tapes (1974)
Hitchhike! (1974)
House of Evil (1974)
Killdozer (1974)
Buried Alive (1990)
I'm Dangerous Tonight (1990)
When A Stranger Calls Back (1993)

Terror Tract would be a joyful surprise. The first segment is good and the third segment is whatever, or maybe I have that backwards, but the second segment, with Bryan Cranston as a suburban dad whose daughter finds a monkey which is secretly evil (it's basically the Telly Savalas "Twilight Zone" but with a monkey instead of a doll), that is everything I want in a horror anthology short.

I hope somebody would be interested in "Buried Alive" if that's the Darabont one, the only DVDs I've seen for sale for that were region 2.

Regarding tomorrow, it's curious that Scream chose to announce all their February titles today. I don't believe they've ever done that before, they usually space them out over several days. Do they have something in mind for Halloween I wonder? After all, they could have just saved these announcements until tomorrow.

They can't get the two movies (hopefully with Kino), but the series is theoretically possible. However, Scream have never released a retro TV series before, so it would be something new for them.

I actually saw DARK INTRUDER first-run in a movie theater back in the day. It might have been filmed for TV, but Universal did release it theatrically as a co-feature.

Great news about THE NIGHT WALKER and GAMES!!! I have both of those in MOD format, but will happily upgrade to Blu.

If there was ever a time for them to do something new that would be worth it. Would love to get rid of the DVD box with two sided discs. It's only one season you would think it could be done. The dream is both movies and the series on Blu-ray. I only wish Darren McGavin hadn't been so stubborn about not reprising Kolchak for the X-Files...what he did was cool but to see Kolchak one last time on that show would have been amazing.

YES! I haven't seen this since it originally aired on TV when I was in elementary school. It has stayed with me all of these years and I would love to revisit it!

I doubt they'll do another 10-title Halloween announcement, tomorrow, on top of the five they just announced today. I wouldn't be surprised to see one or two big(gish) post-February release announcements, but I really wouldn't expect much more than that.

Im in for Games & The Night Walker.

Quick question - what are the opinions on Drag Me To Hell? Love Raimi but generally Im not into PG-13 horror.

Wow, what a great announcement. Colossus: The Forbin Project, a Curtis Harrington film, a William Castle film, and The Gate 2. Awesome

I wish Shout would announce something for closer than 4 months in the future. Their announcements are usually for titles many months ahead. I remember Return of the Living Dead didn't street until almost a year after the announcement. As for Halloween announcements, they wouldn't pass up at least one big reveal on the biggest day for horror in the entire year. But I am expecting more than just one or two - they said they had a "bunch" of titles to announce.

The only possibility I can see of any potential reveals streeting sooner than a few months time is if Scream reveal themselves to be the distributor of the standard editions of Opera, The Church and The Sect (that is, of course, if these titles are ready to go before then). Being Scorpion-produced titles, these might be approached differently to the Scream line proper.
