As far as I'm concerned, the more Warner product, the better. Warner Archive has been releasing stellar blu's for a while now and if labels like Arrow, Kino, Olive, etc can also latch on, that's only for the better for us fans. Warner owns the entire RKO-Radio Pictures features library as well as pre-1986 MGM titles. Even if Scream got the bulk of the Horror films, there are fans out there like me who would scoop up stuff like Laurel & Hardy or Bob Hope comedies from the '40s (MGM) to RKO B-movies from the '30s, etc etc. My inner hippie says spread the Warner love around!
I suspect Warner Brothers is going to be quite a bit more careful about content licensing than MGM to ensure that Warner content released by one label isn't directly competing with Warner content released by another label.

Can anyone check for Warner logos or fine print about Warner licensing on last month's Macon County Line release through the Shout Select line? As pointed out in another forum, that was previously distributed by Warner Bros. as well.

Not sure what all Warner has, but of the titles mentioned so far, these would top my list:

for Scream:
Alice Sweet Alice
any Hammer films

For Shout:
Sonny Chiba Street Fighter films

No WB logos/text anywhere on the disc or packaging. ‘Copyright 1973 Max Baer Productions.’

They were actually talking about Don't Tell Mom The Babysitter is dead, which Schwarzenegger or Stallone had nothing to do with. The biggest action star out of that film would probably be Josh Charles

The prospect of a potential Warner Bros. deal is super exciting, but I'm very skeptical. A Warner deal would be HUGE news and completely revitalize the underwhelmed-as-of-late Scream Factory fandom. There's no way they wouldn't want to tell everyone if that was the case.

If it's NOT the case, they'd still want everyone speculating about if there was a deal, which is where we're at now. So... idk.

Until we see an actual packaging photo with an actual WB logo somewhere on it, I’m going to keep assuming these are all still independent deals of some sort.

They said explicitly on Twitter that they have to be taciturn about their agreements now.

I understand the apprehension, but there are notable differences between these titles and Macon County Line. Warner's DVD of Macon (released in 2008) was out of print for some time before the Shout announcement; moreover, it had a history of different ownership, with the earlier DVD from Anchor Bay (with Shout including the commentary from that disc, absent from the Warner DVD). By contrast, the It's Alive trilogy DVD would seem to remain in print (Of Unknown Origin appears to be OOP, but then it looks like the only release of it came in 2003, so that's not too surprising). Also, both Of Unknown Origin and the It's Alive trilogy are still listed as Warner Bros films on Amazon Instant and Vudu.

It's not conclusive I'll grant you but the evidence is beginning to mount up.

Seems unlikely given that it played uncut theatrically in most countries.

What would've happened to all those 35mm prints?

Exactly so if there was no deal with Warner they could simply say no which makes me think that there must be something !

On the topic of unrated "Nightmare" footage, one thing I'd love to see, if Shout Factory were to ever get the rights to do the "Nightmare" franchise, is the deleted footage they talked about doing for "The Dream Master" that was made solely to be cut so other sequences would be left alone.
