I'd agree on Watchers, I'm hoping that one (perhaps with II) makes the Vestron line at some point.

I wouldn't mind a Watchers double feature. I always like to see the Haimster on Blu-ray. I'm dying for a release of Blown Away with Haim and Feldman. Seems like something Code Red would pick up if they could.

In addition to new scans they never did commentary for 2-6 if I recall correctly. It would be great if we could get commentaries for them.

I'm surprised there are people who feel we don't need a fresh Nightmare on Elm Street set. I guess Freddy Krueger isn't as popular as Jason Voorhees . Every time a new Friday the 13th set is announced everybody jumps for joy. Yes, that old New Line Elm Street DVD set was exhaustive and state-of-the-art for its time but it's high time we got something new. Fresh scans, director's cuts, new interviews, the works. The Elm Street franchise is just as important as Halloween and Jason

I'd obviously love a new NoES set; it's my favorite horror franchise (behind Phantasm, but above Halloween, TCM, and F13), but the fact that it already has a Blu-ray release is satisfying enough on some level. A box similar to the Halloween set would be great, but what could they offer besides new scans? The Never Sleep Again doc has a ton of info/interviews/supplements. And do legitimate DC's even exist? I know Dream Child has one, but are there elements to even craft new DC's of the others? And would the directors be willing to re-work them? It seems like a giant project, and with Wes gone, it takes some of the steam out of its appeal. At least to me. But what do I know? Regardless, if they create one it's a day one purchase. But if they don't, at least I already have something, which I think is the way most people feel about it.

I think that's primarily because people still cling to the hope for more extended cuts without all of the MPAA mandated trims (which, other than JGTH, may not still exist) and a proper 3D Blu-Ray for Part 3. Other than new 4K scans for each of the films, there isn't much else that could be done for the series that wasn't already done in the tin set or Crystal Lake Memories.

NoES faces mostly the same issues. Never Sleep Again pretty much closes the book on extra material that could be created for the films. Outside of extended cuts (if they still exist) and a proper 3D Blu-Ray of Freddy's Dead (though, the 3D sequence was anaglyph in theaters, IIRC) there isn't much else left to do, other than new transfers / color correction.

Honestly, new transfers for 2-7 and the uncut Dream Child is all that’s left we truly need from Nightmare on Elm Street, aside from an official Freddy’s Nightmares release. It would be great to have all the deleted scenes and workprint stuff from the sequels, but I think I would want a Robert Englund commentary on all the films more than anything. That man can ramble and conversate facts/useless facts and anecdotes more than anyone I have ever seen in my life, it would never be boring.

I've been keeping my fingers crossed since the 'Wishmaster' 4-pack was released that a 4-pack of 'Watchers' would be released as well. I've been itching to snatch up copies of 3 and 4 on VHS, however they go for about $50 a piece when you factor in shipping and handling....

How about an uncut version of part one?

Didn’t realize there was anything else but dialogue bits and scene extensions that would even warrant an uncut version. Besides, if Wes didn’t do one, I wouldn’t want one from anyone else.

Well, perhaps maybe a Bob Shaye extreme vodka edition of the original.

I have the NOES blu-ray boxset as well as the Never Sleep Again doc. The only thing that would truly interest me at this point is a blu-ray of Freddy's Nightmares with some nice bonus features and commentaries.

Never underestimate the appeal of individual discs with original poster art and a nice slipbox. Throw in a booklet, poster and/or lithograph and even without changing the content of the discs you would have an attractive package that would still bring in sales.

-With that aside the obvious changes include...

-updated scans. 4k for the original, 2k for the rest.
-Correcting the gamma/black levels that folks have commented on in the NOES thread.
-Original Theatrical sound mixes in addition to existing audio mixes.
-Re-incorporating the cut footage from Part 5 at a minimum, but all releases via seamless branching if possible.
-Adding all the Horror's Hallowed Grounds episodes that have been produced. (I'm aware of at least 4)
-Re-incorporating the 3d sequences for Freddy's Dead

On top of all of this there is the obvious missing bits from the current box set...

-No remake included
-No Freddy vs Jason

Adding those two films, even in their existing forms that we all likely own, makes for a definitive collection at the moment.

Personally, I'd rather see a separate box set for the television series. Maybe include the very first episode on the bonus disc(s) since it ties directly into his origin, but overall these range wildly in quality and I'd much rather pick up two separate box sets than to see a few random episodes tossed in with the films.

Blind bought Into the Night based on the synopsis. The premise sounds like fun and I always get a thrill out of seeing LA circa 1985. For some reason this sounds a little like the premise to Miracle Mile without the post-apocalyptic angle. Looking forward to checking it out.

ANOES box would be a dreamm, ironic that one of the SF guys are from new line home video , the company that produced that epic elm street dvd set. WB blu ray set was pathetic.

Watchers is one of my most wanted from the Vestron line. The original is actually a pretty decent creature feature. As an 80's baby and a fan of the two Corey's growing up, I am also still waiting on some of their lesser known films like Dream a Little Dream, Prayer of the Roller Boys, and Blown Away.

In a perfect world, I would have 4K scans for ALL of the films....even (if possible) Freddy Vs. Jason and the remake.

As would I, but given the costs involved I don't see that happening. The only way I could see this potentially having a chance is if Warner has plans for a UHD release and grants Scream Factory the rights to the 4k scans for standard Blu Ray while Warner themselves hold onto them for an eventual UHD release. I don't see Warner caring enough to ever re-scan any of the sequels though so outside of the original, I think 2k will be as good as it gets.
