I agree with this, with one other exception -- the episode of "Nightmare Cafe" directed by Craven seems like it would be a good bonus feature.

Who's up for them to release Freddy's Nightmares on DVD/blu-ray?

Freddy's Nightmares was very likely shot and / or edited on tape.

Which means a DVD release would work just fine and is likely all that series really needs.

Boxsets are lovely but I would genuinely love to have each of the Nightmares as a standalone release, with slips featuring custom art, plus the original artwork on the flip. Call it nostalgia but I am a sucker for having these type of things on the shelf together! Reminds me of video stores.

Of course I'd take either option.

I assume a theoretical NOES box from SF wouldn't be able to include any of the MTV or Showtime specials, or Englund's lengthy in-makeup Night Flight interview? They could also hide a few of the 1-900 ads as Easter Eggs.

How about a boxset containing separate films in separate cases with custom art and original on the flip side?

Into the Night is an absolute favorite; Shout did a good job with this, in its U.S. debut. It was a transitional film for Landis, but it's complex, quirky, and filled with great performances. It's little seen and not appreciated the way it should be, but I'm glad to own it, and I've already watched it twice since purchasing it.

Basically The Phantasm set. I agree that this is/was more or less the standard that most all box set's will be judged and is exactly the kind of model a hypothetical NOES set should follow.

Is there a problem with Shout's Into The Night release?

Just that they touted a "newly restored master" that was basically a port of the same middling one used on the French release.

Anyone else thinks they might do The Hitcher (1986) in a CE or even Razorback?

Man, I'm really falling behind on my Blu-ray release schedules. I totally missed that Nightmare At Noon's street date was yesterday. Nobody's talking about it so I assume this one isn't as popular.

There's some suggestion that HBO/Warner might have lost the rights to The Hitcher (apparently they might have reverted back to the producer, along with the rights to Near Dark). Of course, there's nothing stopping Scream working out a deal (for both titles?) with said producer, though it might be that Arrow have beat him to the punch, we'll have to wait and see.

Surprised that no one has mentioned that Scream Factory is putting out Alien Predators in June.

I used to think the earth revolved around the sun. Now I know that it revolves around jim1985.

Shout did quite well selling "rubbish B movies" on blu-ray with the first Corman deal. I'm thinking there are plenty of people looking forward to buying more of Corman's "rubbish B movies" this time as well.
