The Zero Boys and Hired to Kill are both hella fun movies, and I love having them in my collection.

I've got Island of Death, but I haven't watched it yet. (I'm a big chicken.) Soon, though.

Make sure there is plenty of hot water in the water heater. You'll be scrubbing and scrubbing but you'll never feel clean again.

Shout Factory is having a 50% off sale on their Corman titles. Do I need Forbidden World, Galaxy of Terror, or Piranha? I've watched the trailers and feel like I would like to own them maybe but I'm not 100% sure that I need them Since I'd be looking at about $50 whether I added one other title or not.

Ah jeez, wondering if they are "cleaning house" on the Corman's and then doing some new editions. That'd be funny.

Most likely on at least a few of them. I'd wager that Slumber Party Massacre 1-3 will not be re-issued however Piranha, Forbidden World and Galaxy of Terror seem possible along with Humanoids from the deep and a few others.

These Corman movies have my highest recommendation. Roger Corman productions, especially the big late 1970s/early 1980s numbers like Death Race 2000, Piranha, Galaxy of Terror, Forbidden World, Humanoids of the Deep, Rock ‘N’ Roll High School, Battle Beyond the Stars, Starcrash, Slumber Party Massacre, and the women-in-cages movies, are crude and they wear their low budgets on their sleeves, but they also gave audiences exactly what audiences wanted...likable characters, exciting gore, a little bit of T&A, and such.

There's a fun-loving spirit to all of these films, despite the grisly subject matter, that demands multiple revisits.

Piranha is an absolute must imo. Forbidden World is ok, nothing too special, although it does have some decent special effects. I picked up Galaxy of Terror myself. Can't really comment on that one though as I haven't seen it.

since I grew up with those films and love them, I like the idea of collector's editions and am not opposed to double dipping.

I was thinking about some great retrospective interviews from the casts and then I got to thinking....

Edward Albert, Erin Moran, Ray Walston, Heather Menzies, Zalman King....... RIP

I've never seen Galaxy of Terror, but highly recommend the other two. I think Forbidden World has an awesome soundtrack as well. I like it enough to have picked it up on vinyl and can listen to it over and over.

I'm willing to bet they will release Return of the Living Dead II on blu-ray so fans of the trilogy can complete the trilogy

Willing to bet Death Race, Humanoids from the Deep, and/or Piranha get CE treatment from the Scream Factory line, at some point.

If any of you are on the fence about Forbidden World, then here is an excerpt from my review...

This plot is basically just an excuse for copious amounts of gore and gratuitous nudity, but the end result is nonetheless entertaining. I love that the two female scientists, played by June Chadwick and Dawn Dunlap, walk around the laboratory in clear stripper high heels and have a propensity to have long serious conversations while washing each other's hair in the shower.

I started a Roger Corman on Blu-ray thread last year, and all of my existing reviews of his Blu-rays are posted there.

I have a feeling too. And maybe that's why the sale?

Nevertheless. I've had four price watches on Roger Corman titles for about six months. Starcrash, which I've never seen, but I want. And, Death Race 2000, the Women in Cages collection, and Piranha, which I had in my collection years ago, and loved each. I have been patiently waiting to get these back into my collection, but the price point was always high. These prices with this sale, are the cheapest that they are going to get, so I happily bought them.

Now, if they get the CE treatment, it'll take a lot to get me to upgrade. As they already have lots of bonus features, I don't see what they can add. But, they can upgrade the video on all of these. None of these are stellar looking blu-rays. But good enough for me.

btw, nice thread @GreatOwl!

What are the chances that we could ever get a Big Trouble in Little China CE? Scream Factory has a lot of love for Carpenter and I’d love to see one of his other classics like this one in the lineup.
EDIT: Or even Christine for that matter.

btw, nice thread @GreatOwl!
I agree ! the Corman titles that have already been released on Blu-ray are loaded with special features and really how much more can they improve on these releases ? One of the guys from Scream Factory was asked which title was the most difficult to restore and he replied by saying any of the Corman titles.

Here is a link to the interview, he is asked the question at the 5:45 mark !

Maybe they might be able to improve the picture quality a little bit but I don't think I will be double dipping on the previously released Corman Blus.
I would rather have Shout Factory focus on releasing the other Corman titles they just acquired.

A few come to mind Summer Camp Nightmare, Sorority House Massacre 2, Stripped to Kill 2 etc
