I hope for more WB titles of like i mentioned earlier from Beetlejuice to Critters to Freddy's Nightmares (on DVD for the first time) and more. |

I bet they've secured Memoirs of an Invisible Man, too. It will be nice to have In the Mouth of Madness to go with the other SF Carpenter series. Wonder if they'll do a Carpenter box or something. Maybe not likely since they've already done steelbooks, but you never know. I like ItMoM; probably the last great Carpenter film. But it wouldn't be the first or even second of third Warner title I'd want released from them. Be interesting to see how this deal pans out.

Not horror related, but if Shout has a Warner deal, I could see them doing the animated Hobbit movie and I would absolutely buy it. I have the Lord of the Rings animated and have been waiting for them to release the Hobbit. Surprised they didn't with the recent success of the live Hobbit movies.

So over the past 24 hours we've established in regard to the WB deal:
1) That Scream aren't just using off-the-shelf HD masters and can perform new scans of film materials (likely the interpositive for most 'new' titles) 2) That they will be doing titles previously released by Warner (which means CE potential aplenty) 3) That New Line titles are included (no real surprise here) Aside from the titles included in the deal (which is surely extensive), all that really remains to be seen is: 1) Can Scream use better materials than the interpositive (i.e. the negative) for double dips of existing titles? We might find this out today if they reveal some of the specs for In the Mouth of Madness, which they likely will. 2) Are HBO titles included in the deal? If HBO/Warner no longer have The Hitcher it might be some time before we find this out. |

Where did I say that? Certainly they're possible (I reckon Creepshow for sure), but there will undoubtedly be titles Warner aren't willing to licence out.

I'm just thrilled that Warner finally opened their vault and are allowing someone other than Criterion access to their titles. My collection will be a lot more complete now.
BarnDoor, you forgot to include titles Warner acquired from MGM pre-1986. We have to assume those are fair game as well. |

I'm going to bet they have Creepshow, Critters, and Memoirs of an Invisible Man. I made a comment on Mick Garris' FB page expressing my hope for a Critters Box Set from SF, and he liked the post. I know that essentially means nothing (or less than nothing), but who knows? Maybe Mick is gearing up to record his commentary for Part 2!

Is Creepshow 3 also with Warner? I know many people hated that film but I would like to see a blu-ray edition of it.

I hope HBO titles have a chance -The Night Flier would make a terrific Collector's Edition. Anyone remember the prison escape thriller Gulag? That one never even made it past VHS. Then there's Fort Apache, The Bronx. Not a whole lot of titles in that catalog but it would be great if any of these were released

I believe The Night Flier is with Rubenstein. I'd love to see Fort Apache, The Bronx but obviously that's more Shout Select fodder.

German label Nameless Media is releasing No Escape sometime this year. Going by their release of The Evil That Men Do I'll be picking it up.

I don't think there's a dispute. I'm pretty sure it's just outright owned by Rubinstein and he'll decide when he's willing to accept an offer to license it out.
