Anyone else glad to see Body of Evidence coming from Shout? I love those 90s erotic thrillers...

most of those flicks are one and done movies and not worth owning for me.... however the spectacle of seeing Madonna
[Show spoiler]getting shot out a window with blood packs
is making me seriously consider buying this!

I love them too but Body of Evidence is basically a weak imitation of Basic Instinct. Unless you have a hard on for Madonna I don't see the point in buying it. There are better thrillers from that time Shout could get their hands on, like Pacific Heights.

Yeah, big rip off Basic Instinct, but enjoyable in an over-the-top way. It has none of the technical power that BI had, none of the star power, but it's interesting as a time piece, as something like this--with actors like this-- would not get made the same way today. The late 80s/early 90s erotic thrillers are part of an underappreciated subgenre for me. Last Seduction, Fatal Analysis, Color of Night, Body of Evidence, Fatal Attraction, Pacific Heights, Jade, Jagged Edge, Body Heat, Sliver...I love that stuff.

My favorite of that explosion of erotic thrillers in the 90's remains the utterly bonkers 1993 Malice. Alec Baldwin is at his arrogant best and Nicole Kidman makes for one ruthless and sexy femme fatale. No plot twist is too ridiculous and what can you say about a film where a serial killer on campus is merely a subplot? Add to that a wonderfully over-the-top appearance by Anne Bancroft, Gwyneth Paltrow getting unceremoniously offed early on and Baldwin's "God Complex" speech and you have a delicious camp classic. Great, ludicrous, nasty fun and highly recommended.

Nicole was SMOKING hot in that.

Love her line, "Take me upstairs and [BEEP] me."

Also a fine Jerry Goldsmith score and great photography by Gordon Willis. Malice is a hoot.

They should do Sleepwalkers with both cuts like Garris's director's cut which i heard has a copy of and to see what he originally intended.

Always enjoyed the theme to that film:

Dream Lover (1994) is the one I desperately want. I keep hoping Shout or someone can do this one. I have no idea which studio currently owns the rights.

Speaking of Enya i used to always think she was the one that sung Walking in the Air from The Snowman when I was a little kid....man how wrong I was...sorry to derail this thread...carry on gentlemen!

Interesting, never heard there was a different cut. Always thought Sleepwalkers had a lot of potential but failed to deliver, especially in its third act.
Do you what are the differences?

I don't believe that Shout / Scream has the rights for Audition any longer. But that could mean that Arrow would be able to bring their edition stateside. I picked up the UK edition and was pleased with it.

I'm a bit behind on some of the collectors editions Scream Factory has put out. I read the reviews and comments at the time of release, but now that some time has passed what's the general consensus on Invasion of the Body Snatchers, Day of the Dead, and Child's Play? I already own all 3 films in their non-scream factory editions... would everyone still say that they are worth a double dip on (or in the case of Child's Play, triple dip)? The Best Buy prices are tempting and I have some reward zone cash I need to use soon before they expire.

All are upgrades from the previous releases. I double dipped on all 3.

Invasion and Child's Play are better upgrades on the original BDs and have MUCH better PQ as CP's PQ in the original BD was mediocre.

Here's hoping they will do CP 2 and 3 this summer maybe they might announce them next month or comic con, it would be a dream come true.

Invasion of the Body Snatchers is probably my favorite Scream Factory release to date.

The picture quality comparison with the old MGM Blu-ray is probably a “six in one, a half dozen in the other” type of thing, but the Scream disc has more information in the frame and the flesh tones are marginally better. The cooler look on the Scream presentation suits the movie.

The special features and the artwork are both well worth the price of admission as well.

As far as movie content goes, this is one of my top five horror films of all time.
