Not sure about the dates, or even if they will be CE's (I hope it's a four film set). All I have is a confirmation from someone closely associated with the project that yes, they are coming to Blu-ray. Take that for what it's worth, but it is exciting news to me.

Playing a little bit of weekend catch up here. Very excited to hear about a Lifeforce 4k. I've been slacking on getting this movie, as much as I've always wanted it! Something movie buying related finally worked out in my favour! Do we know if it will only be released as a steelbook? I've kind of gone off steelbooks and moved away from them. All of my true 4K releases I'm dumping the few steelbooks I've bought and replacing them with the standard version.

I think a Critters box set makes sense, but then Scream might see more sales potential in doing CE's of the first two films and then releasing 3 and 4 further down the line (probably not as CE's, but who knows?).

We should see the remaining August announcements this week, possibly even starting today. I'm hoping for 3-4 on top of the two they've already announced (steelbooks not included). It will be interesting to see how they balance Sony and Warner acquisitions (not to mention anything else) from here on in. I'm anticipating at least one CE, and it would be nice to see something new (for Warner, surely Deadly Friend and Return of the Living Dead Part II must be stand-out candidates).

I bet Scream might do Critters 1 and 2 in Collector's edition with new/old art, 4K or 2K restorations, deleted scenes, TV version of Critters 2, commentaries, featurettes, tv spots, still galleries and all the goodies to please fans of Critters 1 and 2 like me.

These would sell like hot cakes for Scream as fans want them on BD.

And Barndoor, besides WB and Sony, what about also Universal? i mean maybe Tremors CE or Dracula 1979 or something like that.

Until we hear another Universal announcement I'm inclined to think they might have exhausted their existing deal, and with Sony and WB deals who knows if they'll be scrambling for a new one. Most of what's left would be double-dips (and there's obviously a lot of demand for the Jaws and Child's Play sequels in particular), but there are still some 'new' titles which would be very welcome (the 50s sci-fi stuff if Universal have no plans, Let's Kill Uncle, No Escape, and quite a few 00s titles like Altered).

With Universal all I really want are Jaws and Child’s Play sequels CEs.

Mick Garris is doing a special episode of Port Mortem to celebrate the 30th Anniversary of Critters 2. Guests include Lin Shaye and the Chiodo brothers...perfect time to announce a CE of Critters 2? I'd think so!! But probably not haha. At least not via Garris' podcast.

Was Arrow’s release of Lifeforce from a new 2K or 4K scan? Or was it pre-existing?

One of my biggest pet peeves are labels that don't create a last-watched memory function and make you start from the very beginning every time you press the stop button FFS, Shout, it can' t be THAT expensive if Vinegar Syndrome does it. It wouldn't be so bad if the chapters were spaced out every 10 minutes but Scream Factory chapters are spread out like every 22 minutes or something like that. I don't get it.

We have our first title from the recent Corman deal. Coming 14th August:

Looks like Scream are going to be mixing it up with their various deals going forward.

Nice! I had to re-visit the trailer for this one as I wasn't sure if I had seen it before or not. (I'm still not sure) But this looks right up my alley... I'll be picking this one up for sure.

Don't believe I've ever seen The Unborn but having always liked Brooke Adams I'll likely give it a try. The cast includes Lisa Kudrow (!) and Kathy Griffin (!!) with music co-composed by Gary 'Cars' Numan...but the most interesting technical tidbit I found is that it was shot by Christopher Nolan's erstwhile DP Wally Pfister.
