Guys, I apologize for my ignorance here, but is there a list of possible titles from this SONY/WB deal I hear of? I imagine it to be a ridiculously long list if everything included, but do we have a general idea of what maybe could be a possibility?

Thank you.

Brainscan oh boy oh boy, i cannot wait to throw away my old DVD and get this new BD.

Maybe this month more WB and Universal and Sony titles with some independent titles like maybe Alligator would be nice. Maybe even Company of Wolves.

Yeah we probably shouldn't get too carried away with speculation about bigger properties until they announce a CE, as I can't see them releasing something like Candyman as a standard edition. That said, there are still plenty of intriguing Sony titles they could acquire which don't really fit the CE bill. I wouldn't be at all surprised if Nightwing is next, providing Mill Creek haven't already taken the Blu-ray rights.

I've compiled lists for possible Warner Bros and Sony titles which could be of interest to Scream.

There's no list that would be completely accurate, there is however rampant speculation over the last 20 pages or so that list out just about every possible dream scenario title from Sony, Warner and the Corman deal. Most folks that offer up ideas use IMDB or other online resources to try to ascertain who last held the license for a film and then speculate what else could be obtainable based on that information. To put it more simply, if it's owned by Warner or Sony most folks will assume that it's within the realm of possibility that Scream Factory could release it. If it's owned by someone else and was previously released by Warner or Sony however, those are much harder (in some cases) predict.

Not just WB and Sony but Corman, MGM and Universal they got left as well.

Maybe Brainscan might get a 2K remastering.

I even had an HD bootleg someone made for me, but it was so dark it was nearly unwatchable. I'll gladly toss that in the trash when I preorder this baby. Very excited for this. Extras remain uncertain, but I hope they can do something with that score. Love the score (and the soundtrack, for that matter)...

Looks like I just got a shipping notice for Of Unknown Origin. When that comes in it's going straight to the top of the watch stack.

Since Shout! is working with Sony now, I have a list of titles I would love to see them get. It would be cool if they got more of the ex-Twilight Time titles like The Blob (1988), Night of the Living Dead (1990), Fright Night, and John Carpenter’s Vampires, even though I own all of them, I still want to see them available for those that missed out.

Be great if they'd throw out that Critters set before ComicCon, though that could be one of the big ones they're banking on for Halloween, or maybe early 2019. So many possibilities at this point, and they're still being very tight-lipped about all of it...

I wouldn't read too much into things, either way.

Most of the obvious CE candidates from Sony would be double / triple dips of films that already have releases sourced from excellent 2K / 4K masters. It also may be a case where some of these non-CE titles are simply closer to being Blu-Ray ready by virtue of being a little light(er) on extras.

Would love to see them do NotLD if it could be a version without the tint added to the beginning like the TT release had. My brother bought the Umbrella Entertainment Blu-ray from Australia and it looks nice but could definitely be cleaned up. I'm sure it's something Scream would be interested in.

I'm happy with the TT release of Vampires but I have to admit, if Scream did a release themselves I'd probably double dip for it.

Good point. I think in terms of 'new' titles with genuine CE potential, there may even be less than among the WB catalogue. These might have a shot:

Candyman
Runaway (maybe)
The New Kids (again, a maybe)
The Fan (in terms of status and talent, but could they get the talent?)
8mm (see above)
The Mothman Prophecies
[REC] (unlikely being a foreign title, but it is quite highly thought of)

I thought Brainscan would absolutely get the CE treatment, if and when it was acquired; it's a long-requested title for them, and a fan favorite. I've been pestering them about Brainscan for years, and they always told me it was out of the question, owned by Sony. But as far as the CE goes, John Flynn passed away, and as much as I love Furlong, I think it's safe to say he won't be participating, so that may rule out a great deal of potential material. Amy Hargreaves is around and working, but again, probably safe to assume she doesn't have interest in revisiting this. I wanted it to be a CE, but I won't complain too much, as I've been waiting for a legitimate release of this for a long time. So if it's nothing but a proper HD release of the film, so be it.

I should add, I think the only one on that list which really can only be a CE is Candyman, it's just too big a title. The rest, much like Brainscan, could get standard releases despite having CE potential.

Forget a normal Collector's Edition, I want a 4K UHD restoration of the full uncut version of Candyman.

The film is that damn good and truly worthy of a physical 2160p native transfer.

...in other words, I want Candyman to get the Bram Stoker's Dracula treatment from Sony themselves.
