I'm sure there are some completists who had to buy the vastly sub-par third installments of these franchises, but I suspect many picked up the IIs and skipped the IIIs. Especially at Scream's prices.
I'm one of them. I had to get them because I have all the collectors editions minus Garbage Pal Kids and Mystery Science Theater. I'll admit Robo 3, Poltergeist 3, Teen Wolf 2 are stinkers. Only watched Poltergeist 3 so far out of the stinkers and can't see myself revisiting it again. The others I really don't have an inclination to see at the moment, maybe in time.

3 - Message From Space

Message from Space was awesome, Velvet Vamp was alright too. Different strokes for different folks I guess?

I'm in agreement with most though, worst movie's that got collectors editions are imo
1. Robocop 3
2. Garbage Pal Kids
3. Poltergeist 3
4. Teen Wolf 2

I don't know how I missed this release, but the 80s kid in me must buy this disc! And then spend approximately the length of the movie asking myself why I wasted perfectly good beer money...

Or the other way around. I gladly picked Poltergeist III but skipped II.

I watched 75% of Message From Space, realized I had no idea what was going on, and started it over again. It was not worth it.

But yeah, I have a hard time with the Star Wars imitators that came out over the next decade after that film. Battle Beyond the Stars, Star Crash, etc.

If Columbia/Sony stuff is in play, Best of the Best and Iron Eagle are musts for the Shout Select line.

I also want to see...

Hitlist (1989)

Toy Soldiers (1991)

and Let's Get Harry (1986)

Critters is my most wanted horror movie currently not on bluray, if they do release it, I'll actually do that pre-order on website and get it two weeks early deal I never bother with.

the 1991 TV movie The Haunted would be a dream release for me. I don't have much hope that anyone will ever release it even on DVD, but its always been one of my favorite haunted house movies, despite one hilariously bad scene.

Same here. I've only ever done preorders on their website when there was a significant sale it happened to overlap with. However with Critters I want it ASAP... I actually already purchased a poster frame at wal-mart this past weekend in anticipation (I'm feeling that confident it's coming).

Just incase Shout are undecided about releasing BEST OF THE BEST, this should seal the deal.

Yes i saw the movie in theaters at age 6 and thought it sucked then saw it again on DVD in 2005, it sucked ass again and won't buy it on BD since that movie is one of the worst i've seen.

Maybe we might get them from Shout.

Don't forget Critters 2 as well which can use a CE.

And now that Criterion has Altered States, guess it's off Scream's list for potential BDs

The Haunted would be amazing. One of my favorite haunted house films, extremely effective for a TV film. And Sally Kirkland is amazing in the lead role.

It might be interesting to see how the sales of these titles compared.

I like Robocop but I would never want part 3 in my collection. The only time I get every film In a series is if I actually like them enough to want to own them, not just to complete a collection.

Great to hear about the specs for CURSE OF THE CAT PEOPLE, especially the interview with star Ann Carter. I loved this film as a child, and I still do. I'm definitely one of "Amy's Friends."

I enjoyed part 2 since i found it to be underrated sequel but part 3 blows badly and killed the franchise, i dislike the TV show and the remake as well.

Yeah part 3 is awful but its by Fred Dekker so there are some that will buy just for that.
But seriously, a PG13 Robocop? in 1993? What did they think was going to happen?
