Well, someone needs to release The Witches (1990). It’s a cinematic tragedy that it hasn’t yet been released on Blu-ray.

I'd buy it, although that seems more in line with Shout Select...

Since they're announcing lots of other stuff for the month now (mainly DVDs), I'd say they're done. I expect all of the September stuff to be listed on Amazon either later today or tomorrow.

I don't care what label it's released under, I just want it on blu finally.

But really, The Witches would be a perfect fit for Scream Factory. Yes, it's a "family" film but it's also surprisingly dark and it's a horror fantasy and has its share of rather shocking moments.

If anything, it'd stick out like a sore thumb as a Shout Select title.

My thought process was that "The Burbs" and "Dudes" are Shout Select and it felt more in line with those releases, rather than "Texas Chainsaw Massacre IV" or "[Rec]"

So since September was loaded with releases, I should think October will be even bigger...

I'm thinking 3 collectors editions

And like 5 or 6 regular retro ones...

Then just a week or two later.. bam... sdcc ones ...

My head is spinning at all the possibilities and releases were going get..

Ghost Stories sounds great. Might blind buy.

I'll be honest, even though the recent announcements haven't been of interest to me, its still great to see Scream Factory revitalized. Cannot wait to see what they have for us.

I think 4 has been the most until now but we're obviously in fairly uncharted territory this year if September is any indication. If we get a boxset, I can't see them doing more than 4 alongside it but you never know.

With the tune Lionsgate is singing at the moment regarding the Vestron line I'd be curious to know just how many films even have elements to create Blu Rays from. I'm sure it's more than Lionsgate is letting on right now, but it wouldn't shock me if it's far less than we'd all expect as well.

I don't think Ghost Ship or 13 Ghosts (2001) had individual releases, so I could see them doing those as well. Dr. Giggles is OOP and a prime candidate.
I'd buy all of those except Turistas.

Honestly, I think the Vestron line has its days numbered. The number of releases for this year was pathetic.
If Lionsgate indeed lost the film elements for the majority of their retro films, I'm sure they have some more recent titles Scream would love to get their hands on, such as May, the uncut version of Wes Craven's Scream or a Blair Witch box set.

It's no real surprise, but in his review of The Curse of the Cat People over on HTF, Robert Harris mentioned in regard to the Val Lewton films that 'WB has licensed some to Criterion and Shout'. Remains to be seen who will get what of course.

I wonder if there’s any way to get SF put out a hint as to whether the Child’s Play or Jaws sequels or Nightmare on Elm Street films will get CE similar to how they teased Psycho 4 announcement saying Norman will be back but not as Vince Vaughn back in 2016.

I can see the Dentist 1 and 2 coming from Vestron, maybe the Wraith, but not sure what else they could have (as well as be interested in releasing). There's still a lot of 90s-00s titles they could give justice. I wouldn't mind seeing May (which now has a German Blu), Book of Shadows - Blair Witch 2, maybe Dead End. But those are all long shots. Very long shots.

Awesome and maybe Criterion can do Freaks.

We need some releases for September 4th.

That was a rare exception. They usually deny everything until they’re ready to announce. They denied having Demon Knight, then announced it days later.

I know this is the scream thread, but if I had to choose I would definitely pick 'Freaks' to go the Criterion route....
