No because we already have a perfectly good blu-ray with great transfer and extras galore.

the prequels might come on BD from Scream.

There's always room for improvement...

Anyway what about the first Poltergeist then? I see people throw that one around.

I Wish! Unfortunately Tobe Hooper isn’t with us anymore

And Spielberg seems really coy about this one. I don’t know if he had control over the Anniversary Edition, but that shockingly had nothing about the making of the film. I know the controversy about “who’s the director?”. It’s pretty obvious who had final cut on it. But it would be nice to give it the special edition treatment! At least throw on the E! True Hollywood Story and the Making of Poltergeist EPK that’s from the laserdisc. Hopefully reinstate that jump edit.

I would love a Collector’s Edition of I Know What You Did Last Summer

Yes that would be nice and a retrospective documentary with producers Frank Marshall and Kathleen Kennedy with some surviving members to interview and a commentary by a Poltergeist fan/historian.

It'd be Lionsgate, and I wouldn't hold my breath on that one

I'm still calling Candyman as their biggest release of the year.

I'd like to see other unreleased blus. House on Haunted Hill (1999), Cry Wolf, Turistas and Valentine are all ones I'd like to see them announce and should be potential candidates.

I don't think Ghost Ship or 13 Ghosts (2001) had individual releases, so I could see them doing those as well. Dr. Giggles is OOP and a prime candidate.

Does anyone know if Scream Factory has plans on bringing The Keep to Blu-ray? I love that movie but no one remembers it.

Nope and don’t count on it ever coming out for a variety of reasons.

But it's so good. I know the director acts like it never happened, but the monster in it is so cool! It's just so unique.

What about Bringing Out the Dead? I wasn't a huge fan of the movie before, but I'd like to see it get a blu ray release and maybe give it another go.

I had this same reaction. I've been wanting to check it out again too. Been years since I've seen it and don't remember it at all.

Admittedly, I've love to see Bats come as a non-CE release from SF before the end of the year. And Snow White - A Tale of Terror, as well.

It's a possibility if they can get a deal with Lionsgate in the future. We thought the Warner/Sony deal would never happen and here we are...

For starters, the existing release does not include a truly authentic presentation of The Exorcist, as it existed in it's original 1973 release.

+ Include the original mono track.
+ Restore the original jump cut during Karra's

scene.
+ Restore the original Warner Bros. logo.

In terms of extras:

+ Port over all the previous extras including the ones from the current Blu-Ray release as well as trailers, tv spots, commentaries etc.
+ Include all deleted scenes in full that were shot whether they have audio or not.
+ Include the full version of "The Fear Of God" documentary as it appeared when it was first broadcast on the BBC; all previous versions on home video have been cut down and shortened.
+ Include the legendary Captain Howdy makeup test; that'll be a something to see!

Don May, Jr., of Synapse Films did a podcast about the film last August. It's worth a listen if you've got a couple hours to spare.

They've just announced Ghost Stories, seemingly confirming they're done with retro titles for September (no surprise there).
