Also, CMAC finally returned to this forum after quitting due to ridiculous comments like "omg, guess SF totally sux now... sad!" It's one thing if you have actual, substantive criticisms, but can we please try not to scare the Shout Factor folks away again. Jeez.
Scare them away? What are they, 12 yr olds? Welcome to internet 2018. BTW, yea they have WB & Sony Playing ball now & they're still going ape wild with these steelbook re-releases for films they've already put out before. How's that for substantive criticism?, or that they already f'd up their first David Lynch film & that the extras on ITMOM look pretty lackluster, the secret Shout Select title was Man in the Iron Mask & the past 2 select titles they've announced are crap. Ohh & I've been here the whole time past couple of years, it was only about a year ago the Tales from the Hood CE was announced, that was pretty exciting.

A NECA Angela Baker (Pam Springsteen) figure from Sleepaway Camp 2: Unhappy Campers and Sleepaway Camp 3: Teenage Wasteland would interest me, most definitely. Reverend Henry Kane (Julian Beck) from Poltergeist II: The Other Side would be awesome too.

1. These re-releases and double dips help pay for the 'never on Blu-ray' releases.

2. How did they screw up Wild at Heart? They're already fixing the sound issue (which is a screw up, but after everything is handled, that screw up goes away) and everything else is well done.

3. How the hell does In the Mouth of Madness's extras look disappointing? You get 4 new behind the scene extras plus a brand new Carpenter commentary on top of the old extras. HOW IS THAT DISAPPOINTING?

4. The past two Select title announcements are crap? Maybe to you, but Dragnet has many fans and it hasn't been on Blu-ray in the USA yet, meaning it's new to Blu and not a double dip. As for get Get Shorty, yes it is a double dip, but it's a great movie and Shout decided to give it a more deluxe treatment. And once again, these double dips help pay for 'never on Blu-ray' stuff. Hell, don't forget we'll eventually get a first time on Blu-ray release of Plague Dogs from Shout Select this year too.

I'm not saying Shout is perfect, but they're one of the few studios still treating movies right and honestly always try to make an epic release of each movie they have.

Also, catching an error/“screw up” prior to release date doesn’t qualify as a screw up to me at all. They could have just pushed the release date out without giving any reason, as many labels such as Arrow have done numerous times in the past, but they decided to let us know what was going on. Which actually means their quality control worked.

Correct, same goes for when they pushed back The Thing to fix that audio issue. And honestly, out the hundreds of releases Shout has, only roughly 50 or less releases have had issues and they mostly have had fixed most issues.

Thanks for the info on this. I never really thought of Bull Moose as a retailer that ships releases really early as I usually get new releases from them on the Tuesday they come out, or the Wednesday after (or rarely the day before release) but that is NOTHING different from Best Buy or Amazon (BB especially seems to send stuff and deliver stuff early).

Anyway I did a little research and only 4 of the August/September Scream Factory releases are being prevented from being preordered at Bull Moose.

8/14 - Return of the Living Dead Part 2 CE
8/21 - Strait-Jacket
8/21 - The Tingler
8/28 - Brainscan

Everything else, including all of September's releases including The Exorcist 2 CE and TCM:TNG CE, can be preordered (albeit at fairly high Amazon-like prices).

Perhaps their "punishment" was only those 4 titles? Which sucks because I really want to lock in a decently-priced ROTLD 2 CE preorder. Guess I'll wait and see what they charge at release, or what Deep Discount has it for with a coupon code.

Oh good lord now people want action figures and even more re-releases. I give up. You do know there are plenty of horror figures out there already right? Having said that who could resist a Tom Atkins and Stacy Nelkin in bed figures for Halloween III!

On the plus side of all this is if Scream actually gets Deadly Friend, Critters, JGTH unrated, Jason X, kolchak tv series, Nightmares and Dreamscapes, Alone in the Dark, etc etc I'll actually be surprised because I have doubts now on what they can get. Keep expectations low and dont listen to the hype is now my motto.

How about a standalone CE of Frantic? One of the best suspense thrillers ever made and Warner sticks it on a cheap double bill.

If WB themselves don't do it, I would love to see Scream to do a Blu-ray for the Tales from the Crypt series.

Easy, they might be saving their big hits for SDCC. They know there's a high demand for those titles and if they didn't get them its because Warner wouldn't give it to them (which will be a big tragedy IMO, as the Warner Archive releases basically consist of the film and a trailer and nothing else, while Scream could produce many cool features).

At least at SDCC they almost certainly won't be announcing more steelbook releases (new scans or not).

I'm with you on this ^ but I also feel like just because we might get a Warner Archive release of a certain film this year or next, it doesn't mean that SF won't double dip that film as a CE 2 or 3 years from now. Give it 2 years and SF will be announcing films like TCM3 or Night School......

Im so excited for the SDCC announcements. Is there any Warner/Sony titles you guys think we might see that hasn't already been predicted on this forum?
