The final product certainly feels like a Spielberg movie. Hooper never did anything that felt like it.
I have to agree. It's definitely more surprising if Hooper directed it than Spielberg directing it IMO

It feels like a mixure of both. The later it gets into the movie it starts to feel like a Hooper movie though.

I spoke with Scream Factory about releasing it, but they said the licensor is not willing to work with them.

The extended cut in SD should easily be an option if they can't find a usable print which seems to be the problem thus far.

Can't believe we don't have any ComicCon leaks yet. What's the actual date/time they'll be announcing the new acquisitions this year? Anyone have that info at the ready?

Here they are, in plain sight.... But no one is willing to pay MILLIONS to license them, and he won't budge..... http://www.newamsterdamnyc.com/feature-licensing

I get the weirdest feeling that it'll end up being some oddball indie label that eventually takes a gamble and lands these titles.

Did Hooper's personal troubles begin before or after Poltergeist? The answer to this question could answer the Poltergeist riddle

I had no idea he had Nightflier (1988) as well. That really gets my goat.

Spielberg as the writer and producer dominates the space that the director usually does. This isn't unique to this film. I know we all love the director to be the auteur on everything, but sometimes the director isn't, and this is one such case.

1988? The Night Flier was a 1997 film.

I'd love to see IT 1990 2-disc CE with the uncut version of the mini-series and retrospectives, promos, new documentary and all that to cash-in on the sequel to the new adaptation.

I want Critters boxset too and i'm sure they will announce it at the SDCC

I didn't know he had it, either. I wonder why he lists it as 1988, when it was from 1997? Either way, that guy is pure trash. He'd rather get zero dollars than actually make some money with a fair licensing deal. And most true Dawn of the Dead fans don't want to see a 3D version. We just want a fully restored, full-length version. It deserves the same care and treatment that was given to Night for its Criterion release. I thought he might have the decency to finally license to honor Romero after his passing, but that didn't happen.

The guy is a bastard no doubt because he wasted money on a 3D that didn't work! i think Shout needs to save some money from the people who buy their stuff on shout to raise enough money to give to Rubeinstein.
