I forget, was Garbage Pail Kids announced at Comic Con? If it was, I take back my comment. It's just that someone said a few pages back that they expected Comic Con announcements to be big tentpole titles and that made a lot of sense to me. What are other examples of obscure titles announced at the Con?

As suggested above in the past we've been thrown a relative obscurity like Blood and Lace or Eye of the Cat, but obviously no one is expecting Scream to overload their slate with such titles (and there's no doubt that The Hand boasts a much higher profile than these, given the talent involved and its reasonably healthy home video history). It's all about the blend really.

Since Comic-Con is arguably Scream Factory's most anticipated announcement event each year, and we're always trying to remember what was announced in previous years, would it be possible to add TripleHBK's post to the first page of this thread along with the HorrorHound announcements -- Scream Factory's first big announcement event -- from 2012?

HorrorHound 2012 Announcements:

The Fog
The Howling
The Burning
Lifeforce
Night of the Comet
Day of the Dead

That 2012 HorrorHound event is still their best convention lineup, overall, to date. No filler, all killer and only one Blu-Ray double-dip (not counting international releases). 2016 was really strong, though.

Darkman could use a steelbook re-issue with 4K or 2K.

If SF does a new deal with Universal, They Live will be at the top of the double dip list.

They've already released a steelbook of They Live, so I suspect that ship has sailed for the time being. For some reason MGM and Universal seem to be allowing new restorations for certain titles but not others, much to Scream's frustration I imagine.

A new deal? I thought they already have an existing deal with Universal. Halloween 2 and 3 are getting re-released.

Also, their VERY FIRST announcement in 2012, when Shout first announced that Scream was being launched, featured these titles in the initial announcement:

Halloween II
Halloween III
The Funhouse
Terror Train
They Live!
Deadly Blessing
The Island
Death Valley

It is now on the Criterion Channel on Filmstruck, with a Criterion logo at the front and everything. You can stream it now. I suspect Criterion will release it on physical media sooner or later. They just added it in May, I believe.

I've passed on all the Steelbooks but if they decided to one for Darkman with a new transfer, I'd be on that like white on rice. I passed on Scream's original release of Darkman because of it's rather poor transfer.

Yeah, right. Don't know what the deal is with this one. Would love a Blu-ray of it, but can't see it happening.

Huh, I just assumed that WB owned What Ever Happened to Baby Jane outright.
