Yes that would make sense to release them in time for the original's 35th anniversary.

Why not a Creepshow button? it's better than a TCM The Next Generation button.

I don't recall the SDCC buttons ever leaking SDCC reveals (bearing in mind that Army of Darkness and the Tales from the Crypt films were never going to be SDCC announcements), so that's hardly surprising.

This release is definitive, in my opinion.
Indicator is SUCH a great label.

I haven't revisited the Elm Street series in a long time; a new set would surely inspire me to do so, and I'd love it, but there's no way it's happening this year. That would be seven films, and since we know they're releasing Critters (assuming it's all four) that would be 11 total right there, plus the various double dips they have, plus the couple of obscure films, that would put announcements close to 20 films. Scream Factory has already tried to backtrack on the whole "jaw-dropping" comment because they've raised expectations so high. I'll stand by my prediction that Candyman and ANoES will NOT be announced this year.

I'm much more convinced that we'll be getting a lot more of the mainstream (ie. not really horror) efforts I've mentioned previously this year and into next summer.
Why don't you think a Nightmare set will be announced at the Con? Remember, the titles they announce aren't expected anytime soon, so they could announce that they've acquired the series and are planning a big set for Halloween '19. It doesn't get more mainstream than Freddy Krueger

Aside from Nightbreed (and we all know the issues there), I don't believe they've ever announced anything that has been released beyond July of the following year (and Return of the Living Dead is the one that pushes this to July, all the rest were by May IIRC). I think it's much too early to announce titles for the following September/October, not least since many people won't really listen and just bug them about it until they're officially scheduled (which wouldn't be for almost a year after this event). They'd just be making a rod for their own back. Better to announce more imminent stuff now and then build up some fresh buzz this time next year.

I don't think a NOES set will be announced, nor do I really need one. Maybe interesting if they included Freddy's Nightmares. Other than that I'm okay with the current set I have. That being said, SF could definitely improve on the artwork of the current one lol! Not a reason I'd buy though. Warner has definitely been holding back certain titles, and I think given the size and strength of this franchise they'll hold on to this one. Even some weird stuff like the TCM they released through Warner archive was surprising. Wolfen, Night School, the Black Scorpion, etc. All would have been great candidates for SF, but for whatever reason they held on to them.

I just hope they announce stuff that hasn’t yet been released on blu. I’m tired of all the re-releases and steelbooks.

Well it's worth bearing in mind that the Warner deal was very likely only concluded earlier this year, thus Scream getting hold of those kinds of titles wasn't really an option. That's not to say they might not revisit certain Warner Archive titles (like TCM 3) given the chance.

I'm just gonna wait for the announcements to drop tomorrow night - no more speculating. Nothing I ever predict comes true and everything I speculate on is shot down or invalidated.

I think they shot down rereleasing TCM 3. Someone asked about that in a comments section, and they said something like "that was just released on Blu-ray." I know SF likes to throw around the old misdirection, but I can't see them rereleasing a current WAC title (especially since they're all pretty well done (no, there is no circle hologram)).

The Texas Chainsaw one looks like a suburban mom who let herself go a bit and is aware of it and is absolutely not feeling the fact that someone is taking a picture of her, but she knows she has to do it for her kids, plus after all she did have her hair done for the occasion.

Still can't wait for that release!

Its too bad WB releases its title names so close to when they come out, their October releases this year might say a lot about what they did or didnt give up.

I'm really thinking Thirteen Ghosts and Valentine are going to be in the mix, with the big one being Critters. Beyond that, I'd be throwing darts in the dark. Looking at the wonderful list provided of comic con releases a few pages back, it looks like they include a decent amount of well-known, more mainstream titles to announce, which makes a ton of sense to me. Announce the more niche stuff to keep people happy for the front end of the year, with a couple "bigger" ones mixed in here and there. Save the stuff that will please a broader audience and bring in the most attention at comic con. So while something like thirteen ghosts might not be earth shattering, the majority of the comic con audience will know what it is. If it's something people might be less aware of, if it has a catchy character, or some other sort of grab it could work as well. Their goal would be to drum up the most interest leading to sales down the road.

We'll know soon enough!

I’m expecting at least half of the announcements to be double dips.

WAC probably wants their copy out at least a year or two before licensing it out.

I am not well versed in how these scans are created, but with TCM3, is that whole oval thing inherent to the new scan? Or was that added after the fact?

Meaning if Scream released this, would they be able to release it unaltered without having to do a whole brand new scan? I can't see them doing a new scan since this one seems relatively new.

Again, though, I am not too well versed.

My favorite release from last year's ComicCon announcements was probably Into the Night, the bizarre, darkly-toned John Landis comedy. After it was announced I cancelled a German preorder and patiently waited for the Select version to come out. I'm starting to think this year's Select announcements might trump the Scream Factory ones.

I really hope they don’t make Deepdiscount and Bullmoose not taking orders for tomorrow’s title announcements until release day. I still haven’t ordered any of the upcoming October titles due to the policy change.

They’ve got no reason to change the policy since people will resort to just buying direct since Amazon will be unable to price match competitors since said competitors won’t list or make them available until street. They’ve put consumers in a stranglehold and these other retailers in a bad spot.

Personally, if Shout doesn’t want to give me the option of retailers, then I simply won’t give them the option in my budget. I want Valley Girl and Scream for Help but I have no qualms about waiting until next early year to get either when my budget will permit. That goes for whatever they announce tomorrow night, which to be frank, I will be focused on sleeping and will see everyone Saturday morning.
