They're just jealous

I got ROTLD 2 in the mail, but no Child's Play replacement disc.

...do I have to email their customer service again to remind them my replacement copy still hasn't been mailed out yet?

Also, someone at Kino sounds super salty because some of the titles Scream is putting out through the Warner Bros. deal is barely "small".

I mean...Creepshow, three John Carpenter films (one of which has Chevy Chase and Daryl Hannah in it), ROTLD 2, the ENTIRE Critters & It's Alive films series and whatnot.

I honestly believe we're going to get a massive Elm Street box set somewhere down the line.

My hope for an Enemy Territory release gets higher when they announce smaller obscure titles like they did today ..

The alternate soundtrack for ROTLD 2...is weird.

That narration in it really reminds me of the narration during the opening scroll in both versions of the director's cut of The Guyver.

But yeah, I never had the DVD release of the film (or any of the Return of the Living Dead DVDs, for that matter), so I never heard of this alternate score until now.

That Alternate soundtrack is the reason why I called up WB customer service to complain upon receiving the DVD. I mean they added in voice work that didnt even exist and lips were not moving either

I’m guessing he means small as in number of titles. After all, Kino just did a deal with Universal for 100 titles.

Yeah, that's what I took the Kino comment to mean, that it's "small" just in terms of the number of films that were part of the deal.

So in a nutshell yes as a huge Freddy fan I would pony up the dough for a Scream release of the Elm Street movies, hopefully Freddy vs Jason is included.
I want them to include the uncut version of part 5. I have that on VHS still, but that is it.

What is going on with this company at the moment? You can no longer pre-order any of their titles except for Amazon and SF! directly, and they charge just about MSRP and there isn't any competition so of course Amazon will stick with their prices too They have the gall to whine and moan about poor sales, etc. on their podcast, jeez guys I wonder why They do put out a lot of crap too that even fans of this label would probably roll their eyes at. Garbage Pail Kids? Mac & Me? Just one word..why? Aside from nostalgia, I can't imagine Mac & Me actually having fans so if you're one of the ten people in the world that actually like that movie, I'm sorry!

I do believe this whole "gotta act anti-consumer because of less than thrilling sales...for some reason" will eventually dissipate when it blows up in their face.

Chainsaw 4 and Exorcist 2 are readily available for pre-order on BullMoose, so that's a start.

That said, I had already pre-ordered TCM: The Next Generation and ROTLD 2 directly prior to this whole revelation of them restricting where their stuff can be sold for pre-order, so don't accuse me of sticking up for them because I got ROTLD 2 early.

It also doesn't help that other companies (specifically some really awesome British lads and lasses) are easily putting Shout's work to shame, so just buckle the fudge up and just re-open the gates for other sites having their titles up for pre-order.

Scream usually make deals for a certain amount of titles at a time and given that the Critters set was the only Warner title announced at CC it might be safe to assume that it is the last title from the first deal but hopefully everything goes smoothly and they are able to do another deal soon.

Maybe a new deal with encompass the films everyone expects. Being that there was no Warner at Comic Con aside from Critters (right?), that could be the end of it.

In The Mouth of Madness CE BD is fantastic and definitely recommended even for the stunning new restoration and extras! Single White Female never had a BD.

Next year would be nice and maybe if they include Elm Street remake with it, it would make a good coaster.

Yeah, the post was talking about how Warner never used to license their films but they made a ‘large deal’ with Criterion last year and “a small one” with Shout this year, so I’m sure they were referring to number of titles rather than the quality of the titles. So, perhaps NOES is still a possibility within that context but I personally think it wouldn’t have been included in their very first deal, if ever.

I'm not worried about large deals or small deals - Shout has their foot in the door, which is all that matters. The hard part is over. Shout did allude to a lot more titles coming next year so there's that.
