I got four of those long boxes sent at the same time, each had it's own tracking number. In my experience they've never packaged anything together for me unless it was multiple titles without a poster/lithograph.

If Scream Factory is going to continue this whole “4K remaster steelbook edition” thing in hopes that we'll double-dip on those titles, then I'd like to request that the next upgrade be Cat People (1982).

Unless Bull Moose is simply forgetting to change the listing. For a while, you could order Scream for Help. Now you can’t. They have to do each and every listing manually. I suspect those will change over the next couple of weeks.

Would be nice if SF would respond to stop these Alex Jones/Infowars conspiracy theories about preorders.

It's not really a conspiracy theory when the evidence speaks for itself in that none of the usual/major retailers outside of amazon are offering the new titles and they themselves have admitted that something is going on but just haven't elaborated on what exactly.

Oh I’m in no way saying titles aren’t available outside SF direct or Amazon, I was referring to the theories already mentioned as to the why.

I spoken with one retailer and they do not know what exactly is happening. I think its at a distributor level (hence all of the smaller retailers are having the same issue). Scream must be withholding stock from them directly.

It’s not just smaller retailers. Walmart, Best Buy, and Target aren’t taking preorders for any SF titles (except IFC type stuff) that release after August 14th. They don’t have listings for ROTLD2 and Brainscan that release on the 14th either.

Scream Factory is hurting right now, that's really all there is to understand. Physical media sales are at an all time low.

Making prices lower at their own website is a decent start if they want to cut out the middle man but so far I haven’t ordered any of the double dip steelbooks and once I make it past release day without ordering the odds that I’m ever going to buy drop significantly. Cutting off all retailers preorders except amazon who keeps the prices at MSRP probably isn’t going to help sales in any way. But what do I know?

You're one of Scream's customers that's keeping the company afloat by making Day One purchases. I will always prefer physical media over streaming media, but I also wait until the price reaches a particular threshold, like the current price of some Scream Factory items at Best Buy.

Yeah I have been preordering their titles for a number of years now. I actually have Creepshow, Return of the Living Dead 2 and Brainscan preordered for amazons absurd prices but that’s only because I bought a mattress and got a $200 gift card with the purchase. There is no way I’m preordering everything for $30-$40. I’m sure some diehards won’t care but this is going to change how and what I buy from them unless it stops. Not letting Best Buy take preorders because they tend to deliver 1 day early is dumb.

It is a scary look into what a world without competition for amazon would look like.

I have Creepshow, Valley Girl, and a bunch of others on pre-order at Amazon also. But, if the prices don't drop a few days before release I'll cancel my pre-orders, and wait till there's a price drop. I won't support this.

While overall sales numbers are down compared to dvd era sales, the industry is still immensely profitable. Saying that Scream Factory is hurting is utter nonsense. There wouldn't be new distributors coming out of the wood work if physical media wasn't profitable, nor would Scream Factory just have signed distribution deals with Warner or Sony if there wasn't money to be made. On top of that, if someone is struggling with sales on a product, you don't make that product harder to purchase by limiting where it can be sold if you want sales to go up.

With that all said, as much of an annoyance as it is to not be able to pre-order, everything we've been told thus far has stated that all of these titles will show up on all the other retailers eventually so in theory we should all be able to get the films we want... though perhaps a bit later than we would have liked.

As a budget conscious collector, I typically shop on Amazon for the best prices. The only time I ordered direct from Shout was for SNDN to get the 'exclusive' Billy figure. I used to blindly pre-order titles from Amazon knowing that they would typically drop to the lowest price they'd be for a long time just before release. Now that things have changed I will be paying a lot closer attention to prices and either cancelling pre-orders or not placing them at all.

I just hope that if new titles don't sell well the powers at Shout don't simply assume it's because they weren't popular movies.

I have no idea how the sales figures are presented to Shout Factory, but if they are broken down even slightly I would assume that it will become very apparent that pre-sales are way down compared to past examples. Any complaints about low sales on these titles will likely fall on deaf ears for the next year or so.

Scream Factory should release "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow" (1980) with Jeff Goldblum

Just watched student bodies on prime. Its such a generic slasher no style no plot lame characters and when the killer has no mask or creepy look it just ruins the atmosphere, It had nothing. Is anyone here that is a fan of this movie? I absolutely hated it.
