I think we got the Facebook post because there will be announcements tomorrow and they don't want people *****ing.

It's a bit too late for that...

I also feel like this is a situation where holding off on things until they can regain some sense of when things will street isn't a bad idea. Not announcing on Halloween wouldn't mean later street dates or no February announcements, it would just mean that they would be a bit more certain about what is feasible for February so if they need to delay they could do so accordingly.

With the amount of complaints that are constantly flooding in in every thread relating to Scream Factory these days, not having announcements on Halloween should be the least of everyone's problems.

I don’t think I’ve seen anyone mention My Demon Lover since it was on HBO (?) sometime in the 80s. I remember it being cheesy fun. I wonder how watchable it would be now.

Our customers and fans have been experiencing late shipments, damaged shipments and slow customer service responses. It is not the level of service that we have delivered in the past and that you have come to expect. We can--and will--do better moving forward.

We have heard you and empathize with your frustration. We take this very seriously.

Here are the steps we are taking:

1) We have hired four additional customer service staff members with the goal of reducing email response times to less than 48 hours in the next 8-10 working days.
2) We are working with our warehouse to increase the number of quality control checks to be sure your products arrive undamaged.
3) We are also working with our manufacturing partner to get accurate, title-specific delivery forecasts, which we will then communicate to you as soon as possible.
4) Product delivery updates will be available on the product pages as we go forward. If you only need to know if we are actively shipping a title you will not have to wait for a response from customer service.

While we are working hard to prevent delays and damage going forward, there is a chance that your order may not reach you by the date you were expecting it and we all know that damage can occur during shipment. If you would like to cancel your delayed order or pre-order, we completely understand. But please stick with us if you can. We promise you that we are doing everything in our power to get it to you as quickly and in the best condition possible.

If you have already emailed us about a delay or other concern and have not yet received a reply, please know that we are responding to emails in the order received and will get back to you as quickly as possible. We have the capacity to get through about 350 emails a day right now and we are anxious to clear the backlog.

We appreciate your patience. We have more exciting titles lined up for 2019 (some which we’ll be announcing soon) and your support and enthusiasm for them is something we don’t take for granted.

From all of us here at Shout! Factory, thank you! We hope you have a fun and safe Halloween.
No mention of price fixing.

I'm inclined to agree with you, especially as they say that more titles will be announced soon and then wish everyone a happy Halloween...

Naw they would definitely be shooting themselves in the foot even more than they already have if they skipped over announcements tomorrow. Im sure by announcing something on Halloween, they would be hoping to take the eye off the recent negative with a little hype.

Like heres Fright Night Pt 2, now stop complaining about our damaged posters/delayed shipping/inflated prices etc.

Shout can apologize all they want. I want my releases for $10. Maybe $15 for collectors editions. Also, I want to be able to buy them somewhere that ships them out to me before release date so I can brag about it on here.

They really need a new way of rolling and packing the posters if they're going to lure preorders with them.

It was an attempt at sarcasm, even though the prices he mentioned really weren’t that far from what we were paying for them in the past (at least during sales).

Judging by the last sentence I think he was being sarcastic

An apology for delays in shipment and damage to posters doesn't do anything for me. I want to know what they're doing about the prices. Some titles have been marked down already and a couple of preorders have popped up at under $21 so this means they may be easing a bit on their new pricing structure - it's a start. I'd love to start getting excited about future titles again.

With them adding 4 new employees and their other efforts, that directly affects their overhead. I doubt you'll see any lower pricing as a result.

Not to mention the added costs of sending replacement discs, posters, etc. and perhaps providing discounts/refunds for unhappy customers on a case by case basis... strictly speaking business-wise, I don’t think they’re going to start slashing prices for a good while.

I was being sarcastic indeed. Should have specified CAD dollars. Pricing hasn't changed a ton up here. Maybe a couple dollars per release which I would say is reasonable given the state of the physical media market (even more niche media) and their cost of acquiring higher profile titles, making new deals, etc. I think I recall one time about 5yrs ago when the CAD was equal, Shout had a sale with free CAD shipping and I ended up getting some really good deals.

Either way, was attempting to lighten the mood and get ahead of the 20 pages of negativity that will follow the apology. I'm mainly here for the movies!

I could do without more steelbook re-releases. Definitely have my fingers crossed for a surprise announcement that catches everyone off-guard. It is Halloween after all! We deserve something great.

Really hopping for Jason Goes to Hell. Sure, it's not the best movie, but I still enjoy it.

If they had done it right to start with then it wouldn't have been a problem, but it seems to be a continuous problem for them.
