Hoping SF can snag Femme Fatale through their Warner deal; be nice to see it alongside Obsession, Raising Cain, and Carrie.

Just looking at my amazon.ca pre-orders and while Candyman has not been cancelled, it is unavailable on the product page... weird, hopefully it doesn't screw up the current pre-orders.

Was just browsing earlier and noticed also The Thing steelbook is also showing as being currently unavailable to order from amazon.ca (it had been showing as temporarily out of stock since Tuesday but one could still order it, now it can't be ordered at all) and also just doing some more looking around it looks like Sleepwalkers and The Devil's Doorway seem to only be available from third party sellers all of a sudden as well..

I'd love Road Warrior and Beyond Thunderdome CEs. I think these are sure bets.

Does SF still have a deal with Universal?

That's the last "must-have" De Palma flick I need on Blu.

Placed an order during their Comic-Con sale in July, after the new titles were announced, for the Collector’s Editions of Candyman and Urban Legend, as well as Urban Legend: Final Cut. Like most everyone, I received an e-mail last week regarding the delays on the first two titles so when the shipping notification e-mail for only UL:FC came through, I wasn’t surprised; when I got home to find Urban Legend and not it’s sequel had been delivered, I definitely was surprised. Now I’m wondering if they’re going to send me two copies of it and none of UL:FC.

How do you know? Wasn't the last universal release from them quite some time ago?

Dragnet, The Thing Steelbook, Back Beat, and The Mole People are just some of the many.

Wow you're right those are fairly recent too. I wonder if they'll have Justin Osbourne do the art for the sequels to keep in continuity of the first art. Haven't seen new commissioned art from him in a while so maybe they would get Devon instead?

They were some good sketches of the sequels from him that could warrant as covers.

I even made some mock-ups of what they could look like:

I sent Scream Factory a message on facebook a couple of months back asking if they had any plans to release Collectors Editions of Child's Play 2,3 and Bride of Chucky and they replied by saying " Sorry there isn't at this time. We've tried unsuccessfully".

It would be great if Universal would let Scream release these films as Collectors Editions

Not sure why they can’t get the rights. SF and Universal have releases like the Psycho and Halloween sequels that co-exist so this shouldn’t be an issue. Maybe Universal was asking for too much money. I hope they will at least give SF the rights for Jaws 2-4.

It was most likely because Universal was trying to squeeze as much $$$ as they could out of the films but now that they've released 2 boxsets and standalone discs that well has probably run dry...
