That's a no-go for me. I don't think there is even a single movie made in the past 20 years that I'm interested in.

Worship was just poking a little fun. Sort of an inside joke. The context makes it even funnier.

Same here. I'd honestly consider any type of well-planned, customer-oriented service from Shout Factory. A discounted subscription service would be awesome, and a great way to get back in the good graces of the true fans that keep their business operating. But sadly, it seems like all they're going to do is continue stepping on their own dick. Which is fine, because I'll continue supporting Arrow, Kino, Twilight Time, Vestron, Criterion, MVD, Synapse, Severin, Warner Archive, Vinegar Syndrome, and everyone else that knows how to run a business without crapping on the customer.

See you in the New Year at Hamilton Books, Shout. Your New Year's resolution should be to get your act together and build back your customer base. I have no problem waiting for real price drops.

Plenty of other titles to spend money on with good customer service, reasonable prices, elite products, and quality control.

Jesus, could you imagine Shout's Quality Control if people spent $800 for a year long subscription of their releases? Vinegar Syndrome seems to pride themselves on quality restoration and preservation. Shout hopes people don't notice **** ups.

Has there been any discussion in the past for Shout/Scream Factory to release Fear No Evil (1981) ? This film has been on my mind lately.

It all depends on whether they're one of the companies that worked out a deal with StudioCanal or not.

I did order two Shout! blus (The Gate 2 and Candyman: Farewell to the Flesh), but they're titles I can still get through Target, so I'm technically supporting Old Shout! Factory, not Sham! Factory.

Figures. It seems only Criterion has a deal with them.

Kino just struck a large deal (130 titles) with them and Kino Lorber Insider claims that StudioCanal, "also did smaller deals with two other labels, so some of the essential horror titles and foreign films ended up with these two other labels." We don't yet know who the other two labels are.

I can see Scream Factory picking up some of the StudioCanal titles, particularly Vice Squad and The Manitou, although both are also candidates for the Vestron line. Come to think of it, since Lionsgate now owns Anchor Bay, they seem to have the upper hand now.

I'd rather see Kino Lorber pick up "Vice Squard" and "The Manitou". They're not titles that I want to pay in upwards of $30 for, nor, do I want a pair of flawed discs with some sort of Quality issue.

Word is, unofficially of course, someone licensed out a good chunk of Studio Canal titles. Could be Scream or Vestron. Hard to think Vestron because it's been quiet lately one their front. If we don't here something big soon from them, I think it's safe to assume Scream got dibs on some SC title rights ie, John Carpenter Stuff and others.

I'll be shocked if one of the two studios isn't Lionsgate. Between Warner, Sony, the Corman library, and whatever is left between MGM and Universal I don't see Scream Factory taking on yet another license at this time. Given the pre-existing relationship between Studio Canal and Lionsgate it seems only natural to me that they've just renewed that license and will once again begin issuing Studio Canal titles.

On another note... So this isn't really Scream Factory related, but I finally sat down to watch "Rabid" Saturday night and I was very happy to finally solve a 29 year mystery. When I was six or seven I had remembered seeing a film on USA network's "Saturday Nightmares" that for the life of me I couldn't figure out what it was. For years I've posted what I could remember, and scoured the internet for films that I thought might contain the scene in question without any luck... until last night.

The Scene in question that I remembered/described was split in two segments... first, there was a scene in a movie theater where something was injected into someone sitting in the theater... the next scene then involved a young girl that I felt was somewhere between age of 15 and 19 that I believed was the person that had been injected in the theater. She was writhing around in her bra and panties in her bed and sweating as if she was slowly becoming possessed. Someone, I thought her father, came to her door to ask how she was doing, the camera would cut back and fourth between the two while she replied that she was fine and that he should go away. This was all I remembered/had to go by for years.

Last night while watching Rabid however I believe I found the scene's in question. There is a movie theater scene in which one of the female leads has a scene that results in her showing a needle like appendage in her armpit that I'm sure my 7 year old brain mis-remembered as a syringe like needle. The very next scene then has her at home writhing around in a white see through tank and her panties on the bathroom floor sweating as her roommate comes to the door to ask how she is doing and holds a conversation with her before being told to go away.

I was a bit off on a few of the key details such as age and who she spoke with, but overall I was surprised to finally find the scene in question. I believe my young brain over the years blended scenes from the Exorcist with this particular film resulting in the false memory details.

Outside of all of that Rabid wasn't half bad. The discovery of that scene in question certainly added to my enjoyment but the film overall is worth a watch. I've found that I enjoy Shivers quite a bit more, but both are worth owning/watching for sure.

Given the following comments, it doesn't sound like it's Lionsgate.

Most likely stayed with Lionsgate as did many others.
Besides, I think they're StudioCanal's US distributor, much like Fox is MGM's US distributor. They probably get a right of first refusal, or something to that effect, on any StudioCanal-owned titles.

Just watched Candyman for the first time (I know). I was less than a month old when it was released but I do remember seeing the movie at video stores growing up!

What a fantastic movie. Im a huge fan of horror movies that take place in city scapes. I wanted to ask if anyone would recommend me a few more horror movies that take place in cramped apartments in big cities? Preferably movies that are before the 90's!

I, Madman has a very similar surreal and city like vibe and in my opinion is probably the second best blind buy I ever made from Scream. It is dripping in atmosphere.

Looks like Poltergeist, Mary Shelly's Frankenstein, Silent Hill, and the Terminator rumors are circulating again for SF production.
