Rose Red was an unexpected surprise for me. Haven't seen it in a very, very long time but I remember liking it. It says 2002 on IMDB but I think it's older than that, no? I think I was still in grade school at the time (but that doesn't line up with the 2002 date) and it was rented at Blockbuster on multiple VHS tapes. I feel old...

It seems like every other scene switches from HD to vhs quality. I know there are inserts but are there really this many? It doesn't seem right. It happens like every minute or so it seems.
Every other scene? That doesn't sound right. Must've been a real ***** assembling this cut, inserting scenes every few minutes. This never bothered me when Anchor Bay did it but the inserts were just a couple of instances at most. This sounds like a rollercoaster ride lol

It's early. I suspect they'll announce something around noon.

Coincidentally, I watched this last night, and was thinking the same thing as well. Unfortunately, I think it's just a pretty poor ransfer all the way around. There seem to be three grades of quality throughout - HD sequences that look pretty good, HD sequences that look pretty bad, AND the SD sequences that are borderline VHS quality.

Either that or the worse looking HD video is actually better quality SD, but that would mean, as you suggested, that there are A LOT of SD Inserts. I may have to watch the theatrical cut and see if the quality fluctuates.

If they could pause for 6 months and let me catch up, that would be great

Another Hammer announcement. I see Shout has changed direction. Someone wake me when they announce something from the 80's

I haven't bought any of the Hammer stuff, mostly because I'm unfamiliar with it and it would be some expensive blind buys. But to everyone wanting a release announcement, you got it!

We're almost certainly going to get a Hammer announcement a month for the foreseeable future since they very likely have a good many under licence as part of different deals, so it's probably best to get used to the idea. And this at least is one which hasn't had a release elsewhere.

As a big Hammer fan, I'm happy these are coming. Way more interested in these than something like Valentine, and I say that as someone who is also a huge slasher fan.
