I'd be all over a Blu-Ray of Vice Squad. I've been waiting on that one for a long time.

Yes i'm sure now that they learn from Sony that FN is coming to BD that SF will do the sequel since they got Vista Organization titles.

So pleased it's not a CE so they could give us that awesome artwork.
Badass! Kino and SF doing Studio Canal besides Lionsgate? how cool. Time to throw my old DVD away.

Just now — an announcement for THE MANITOU:
BREAKING: We have yet another hocus-pocus offering coming soon. The 1978 infamous shocker THE MANITOU arrives on Blu-ray for the 1st time on 4/16! From William Girdler (Grizzly, Day of the Animals) and based on the best-selling novel by Graham Masterton.

It's fine for what it is - might pick it up, myself - but it's been way overhyped due to its absence from blu-ray. Some folks act like it's the Holy Grail, or something, when it's really just average.
I'm glad you said it. I caught Superstition on cable a few years back and enjoyed it immensely. That said, I am puzzled by how much hype its been getting. Those that haven't seen it are likely going to be let down if they've been reading these forums.

Ugh this means Scream did get a SC deal.

Now instead of being unavailable, they'll be conveniently available from Shout for $30 (though sometimes 5% off!!!).

Why couldn't literally anyone else get their hands on these titles?

Still hoping they release the Brain. Not sure which company has the rights to that one.

So they announce 2 movies I’ve never heard of, is April the start of a dry month for releases? They had a solid start to the year. If so good then I start saving up money.

Neither of these are top tier horror films, but if you've never even heard of them?!?!?! Sir, you lose your horror movie nerd card! These have been two very wanted titles by many horror fans.

Calm down sport if that’s directed at me, look at my Collection & tell me I’m no horror movie nerd, also the Shout/Scream portion. Sue me for not knowing every dang title out there.

I've heard of The Manitou before (don't know what it's about; only recognized the title) but have never heard of Superstition before.

Never heard of Superstition but it looks like something I'd enjoy. The Manitou on the other hand is one I've known of for years but have never seen. Can't wait to get both of these.

You don't have to buy them right away. Just wait for a price point you feel more comfortable with.

MANITOU is one of those so-bad-it's-good movies. Can't say as I would ever watch it alone, but I have watched it several times with big groups of people and everyone had a blast (MST3K-style, of course).

There seems to be a higher-than-usual percentage of people saying they've never heard of Superstition but in actuality it's not surprising given the fact that the film has remain largely unseen beyond a brief theatrical run in '82. I remember not having any luck finding a copy of the film on VHS and I looked extensively (this was before the internet). When Anchor Bay released the film on DVD I was ecstatic and even bought 2 copies. I wholeheartedly recommend a blind buy to anyone who enjoys atmospheric gorefests about witches and haunted houses. If anyone is looking for comparisons to other films I'd say it is similar in tone to 1978's Terror (released by Vinegar Syndrome) and, to an extent, The Power (1984). Can't wait for this one.
