These are the best two announcements they've had in awhile. And when they announce the Brain it will be even better. Glad they are mixing in some more obscure stuff with all the main streamy samey stuff they've been releasing.

Man, I need the Brain soon. One of my favorite 80's monster films. The creature design is nuts. Still don't really get the ending though.

The Brain is awesome. Love that one opening scene where the girls room closes in on her while she hallucinates and monster arms and tentacles come busting through the walls. One of the VHS covers I vividly remember seeing at the video store a lot.

I actually don't even remember how it ends, need to rewatch it.

[Show spoiler]After the monster is destroyed the main characters drive off to live a happy life or something. Then there is a shot of the neighborhood that goes on for like 20 seconds and then the same vision the main character saw of the Brain creature shows up. Not sure if that meant the creature was breaking the 4th wall and was coming for us, or if was just a clip to end the film. Something like that.

Extreme Prejudice would be amazing. Don't care if it's Kino or Shout! as long as it happens.

[Show spoiler] Right! Seems like they just wanted an excuse to use the Brain in one last scene or tease a sequel? Or it could just be one of those endings that's supposed to be left up to interpretation?

These are the types of titles that interest me from Scream. In for Manitou and Superstition. The Brain would be a huge pick up.

Outside of Scream Factory releases, your horror titles consist of modern studio ilk and their sequels, remakes, and even more Scream Factory releases/reissues.

So yeah, you not knowing about The Seven Golden Vampires or Superstition isn't shocking in the least. Check 'em out, though. They're both waaaaay more entertaining than Valentine or Urban Legends 6.5.
I respect your opinion and I am working on getting more horror titles, but outside of my horror collection I’m still proud of my entire collection. While I’ve been a Blu collector since 2008 with what you consider modern studio ilk. Only the past couple years have I decided to pick up older titles, just give it some time. As another poster said also I have no problem blind buying titles I have never heard of.

Edit - going through your list, we have quite a few common titles & a few titles i’d For sure purchase, great collection on your behalf.

There are likely more.

Pretty sure Near Dark is not with StudioCanal in North America (it is in Europe), though it's also possible it's no longer with Lionsgate - there were rumours that the rights had reverted to the producer(s).
I can positively tell you that Picture Mommy Dead, The Man Who Haunted Himself, Road Games, Slayground and Bloodmoon U.S. rights are with Studio Canal. I don't think they control these others in the U.S.

Also, besides Kino and Shout. I've heard Criterion has some movies and also another company or two.

Amazon.ca still hasn't cancelled my pre-order of The Brain ($23). Complete blind buy, but I'm okay with that at the price point if it ends up going through. As for the two announcements, Superstition sounds far more interesting to me personally than the Manitou but they would both be blind buys. VERY happy they're not trying to push them out as Collector's editions so hopefully I can get them closer to $20 than $30. I'll probably get Superstition first, and if I'm happy with that one I'll try the Manitou if the price is right.

In all honesty I wouldn't even sweat a Road Games NA release. Umbrella released a loaded Region Free disc last year that looks great. I can't imagine the extras being topped, either. You can find the disc for under $15 most places.

You have a point, but nevertheless I'd be stunned if Scream didn't put this out as a Collector's Edition. Also, the Umbrella Blu was sourced from a print no? Maybe if the original negative (or something close) was located they could improve on the transfer.

unsure of the source material, I just know that Umbrella did a new 4K scan

Obviously Extreme Prejudice or Narrow Margin wouldn't be with Scream/Shout anyway, but as the Kino Insider has been rather elusive about those two I strongly suspect they have them. To this point I can't think of a SC horror title that they'd dodged questions about. As the above shows the SC horror holdings aren't hugely substantial (certainly not as large as Warner Bros or Sony), so I expect Kino didn't have too many to sift through after Scream took their pick (probably older and more obscure stuff, and maybe some of the Hammer titles). We shall see.
I'd love to see Sony or Scream Factory release Outpost.

With all the current deals in place, I thought it might be worth recapping 'unannounced' titles either confirmed or strongly rumoured to be with Scream (with sources):

Hard to Die/Sorority House Massacre 2 (Jim Wynorski said late last year this double bill was coming from Scream; despite the apparent denials, seems likely to appear at some point given they're Corman titles)

The Terminator (We know this has been licenced, and it's not with Kino or Arrow, which leaves either Criterion or Shout - the latter seems more likely)

Fade to Black (Producer Irwin Yablans apparently revealed this was with Scream at a recent Halloween convention)

Crescendo (George Reis on the Hammer Horror on Blu-ray Facebook group has strongly intimated that this is with Scream; indeed, he's said Scream have a couple of Warner Hammer titles, which leads me to believe they may also have Hysteria)

Anything I'm forgetting?
