Nope, no rewards system.

...and also beware that they now charge immediately on all pre-orders, no matter the form of payment used. They used to simply charge your card whenever separate items in an order shipped, but they just now changed it where payment is taken immediately in full.

They still have not even updated that on their website FAQ. The "Your card will only be charged when an item has been confirmed as shipped by our warehouse." is no longer accurate.

Even without a new transfer, there is still room for improvement with the original Wild Things. The US release only had the unrated cut whereas other countries got the theatrical cut & director's commentary. Shout could potentially gather both cuts plus the commentary and maybe some new special features to make a good release.

The Halloween III steelbook is down to $20 on Amazon so might grab it. That contains a new 4K scan, right?

Of course, putting out over-priced and over-padded re-releases of the originals is right in Shout's wheelhouse.
I could say that for half the releases that come up. People are happy about them and personally I don't understand. At least I'm looking for some titles that haven't actually seen a release on blu yet instead of something we already have with a $30 slipcover. Want to know the great thing about collecting and watching movies? Everyone has their own tastes, watch what they enjoy and collect whatever they want. So much negativity around here all the time...

When did that start? I placed an order 2 weeks back that was 2 current releases and 2 pre-orders.

So far I've only been charged for the current releases that shipped the next day. Pre-order charges haven't hit my account yet.

I pre-ordered three of the April titles the day The Green Inferno went up for sale, and was charged immediately for the whole order. I paid with my debit card. At first I thought it might be one of those charges that was going to drop off after a few days, but it never did.

Yeah I was very surprised when I looked at my credit card statement and saw that I was charged for the April pre orders already.

Since January 9th.

I did an order of all pre-order items last week since the 5% was working on them, and it did complete the full charge on my card. I've pre-ordered things from them many times before, and this is the first time it's done that.

The confirmation email they send out now says this:

Quote:
Please note that you will be charged when your order is placed. All charges will appear on your credit card/PayPal/Amazon Pay billing statement as being charged to "SHOUT! FACTORY."
Also, they have now updated the FAQ on the website:

Quote:
As of January 9, 2019, when you place an order, you will be charged immediately.

Probably because it makes it that much harder for you to try and cancel something...

What's harder to cancel about it? It looks like you just check the box, same as before.

Yes they changed their policy and now charge you right away, guess it’s preorder from Amazon from now on unless it’s a collectors edition with poster.

With the change in policy regarding when they take money, I'm curious if they still ship items as they become available or if they've updated that as well to now hold back items until everything is available? If they're looking to save money I'd imagine that multiple shipments would be one of the first things to go.

Harder in the sense that they would have to refund the money back, which can incur fees, especially for those of us that use prepaid cards.

Gotcha. That makes sense. I've never used a prepaid card before, and didn't realize there were fees associated with those for refunds.

Another good reason for me not to order from Shout directly.
