Yes! Shout's sales are mostly bullshit, and are a good laugh.

I regularly pay, on average, anywhere from $24-28 for Severin, Arrow and Scorpion titles so if I can pick up a Shout BD for $21.99 that in itself is a substantial markdown but the shipping would kill it. They should really rethink those prices. It's bad enough the prices for the Blu-rays have risen but tacking on $6.99 on top is almost an insult.

I don't think low-to-mid 20's is a bad price at all for a proper remaster and new supplements. It's when stuff stays up near $30 (or even above it) that it gets kind of ridiculous. Also when they charge $25-30 for an old master it's kind of ridiculous. I paid $25 this week for 10 to Midnight because it had an amazing 4k OCN scan remaster, but I canceled Brain Dead a while back because it was $30 for an old master.

In short prices should reflect the content, and they often don't lately.

As much as it pains me I keep waiting on Scream titles, especially the non collectors editions, and I regularly check Hamilton Books and I find many of them for 20 and under which is the sweet spot for me. I hate to wait, but it's been working out

I absolutely refuse to pay a certain amount for certain titles. STARMAN, for instance, is a film I adore but won't pay the going price for it even if goes down to about $25. Same with Sleepwalkers. I'd rather seek out (or keep) an older release. I put my old Sony Starman BD back on my shelf after deciding not to purchase essentially the same disc with minor additions from Shout. Plus, there's a very good chance Sony will re-release the film again themselves on UHD. Now THAT would be an upgrade.

Well yeah, Starman is one that obviously isn't worth the money they're asking (assuming you own the OOP Sony release). 10 to Midnight though, with a new 4k OCN scan, commentary and such, is worth it to me. So it depends on the job they do.

They're trying to get a flat $25-30 for everything though, which is batshit.

How many people have received their Urban Legend order from Amazon? I got a notice yesterday that it will be delayed another month until the end of February. Luckily they haven't taken the money or anything but it's still annoying.

I always wait for sales. A few weeks ago all their CEs were $24.99 plus 15% off. Bought 3 titles for $21 each plus free shipping.

Overpriced, but yes, the additional stuff makes it a worthwhile re-buy. I will though toss out that ugly slipcase and make sure to flip the wrap as soon as I receive it. That art is horrendous.

I ordered my copy on Dec. 27, and I received a delay notice, too. I wonder what the holdup is? I didn't think it sold enough to cause this much of a delay, even with the discs being made in Mexico.

Scream Factory, since you guys have put out 3 of 'The Howling' films, if you are able to release Howling IV, V & VI, what about maybe producing a slip case for fans like me who would love them all in a collector's box.
Like for fans of this franchise, since we bought the single releases, that would be awesome for y'all to make a slipcase/box for fans to buy off your site.

Possibility?

And whoever owns the negatives to that New Moon Rising sh*t from 1995, need to feed them into a shredder, burn it and let a goat eat it and sh*t it out. That *movie* is AWFUL, ABYSMAL and HORRIBLE.

It looks like the financing for Howling III's HD remaster was provided by the National Film and Sound Archive of Australia (NFSA). Licensing that HD master was probably a no-brainer since Scream Factory already held US distribution rights through their acquisition of Timeless Media Group. NFSA won't finance similar restorations for any of the other films, since they aren't Australian productions, and I suspect there still isn't enough financial incentive for Scream Factory to finance HD masters for the remaining films, themselves.

I haven't yet.

Mine is still showing "Expected Delivery Jan 30"....despite not having shipped yet. I started a chat with customer service, but then got distracted with something, so was not able to participate in said chat. The agent understandably disconnected when I wasn't responding, but did get as far as

"It should be shipping in 1-2 days" and then gave me a $5 promo credit for the "inconvenience".

I might try opening a new chat later to see if I can get more of a firm confirmation of it shipping within that window, and/or a WHY a movie I ordered around Christmas has taken over a month to ship. (Most of the other Scream CE's I've looked at on Amazon don't have the same extended delivery window).

But, yay 5 bucks, I guess?

Meanwhile, I was charged this morning for my VALENTINE pre-order from Scream/Shout, and it was moved into "processing". I know they previously estimated production issues to be cleared up by end of 2018, so we'll see if it ships soon, or spends a month in that status.

I'm hanging on to my slipcover and will resell it. I've had slipcovers for Scream/Shout Factory titles go for as much as $20!

It would be real nice if Vestron/Lionsgate decided to start licencing out their films to companies like Shout. They're really not focused on those releases and it would definitely bring some excitement to this thread. Still a bunch of potential for Shout's current connections, but eventually we'll run out of "wow" releases.
