Are all the steelbooks 4K transfer upgrades over the earlier editions?

I tried to buy several, but you can't add 'Escape from New York' (steel) nor 'They Live' to the cart. I hope they fix the glitch before the sale is over.

Those two are the same disc. The Thing one is new and one or both the Halloween sequels.

Thank you! Saved me spending money on Escape from New York and They Live, since they're the same disc, I don't care about the steels.

And The Fog, Lifeforce, and Night of the Demons steels, upgrades or not?

Sale has Creepshow for $24!!

Retailers don't have it and would have sold it for $30. They wouldn't budge from the $30+ tag for a while, now they put it on sale..... a@@holes

Escape From New York, The Fog, They Live and Prince of Darkness have all been remastered in 4k in the UK. Even if you're not into UHD or region-free yet, I wouldn't buy them now since hopefully those masters will come here eventually.

I thought that I already owned everything good from Scream Factory, but there are a few gaps that I will be filling with this sale. Lady in White, The Horror Show, etc.

I will have to wait until payday at the end of this week to make my monthly dent in the Shout Factory site, though.

$24 for creepshow is a great price. You shouldn't expect better anytime soon.

Picked up Valentine Collectors Edition today. Shout/Scream's spread of extras on this disc is good. Sadly, the transfer is absolutely terrible. This is a case of both lazy work & extras not leaving enough room on a single disc for the film itself to shine. Hope this isn't a sign of what's to come with future releases.

You seem to be the only one that has an issue with the transfer going by other posts in the thread. I watched mine tonight & thought it was a good looking disc.

What's evident right from the get go is lack of detail in most scenes, with everything looking too soft. Also noticing very minor pixelation in the opening Warner and Village Roadshow logos. Some unnatural motion blur in action scenes.

When the Bluray we just purchased literally looks like an unconverted DVD, we've got issues. I won't be the only one complaining about the transfer in this thread, today is only release day.

Some people have had the disc since last week, in the movies thread a few have already commented that the disc looks good.

Blu-ray literally was meant to push films on home video forward over a decade ago. We've been requesting certain titles over and over, then once we get them we're satisfied. Satisfied in a release over actual quality. The Valentine transfer was phoned in. Its clean, with few visible flaws other than what I stated above. More people will get what I'm saying.

It could honestly be that is wasn't given enough space on the disc in favor of making room for extras. This sucker should have been 2 discs (similar to what was done for the Jeepers Creepers flicks), will all extras on the 2nd platter so the new 2K transfer had some space to breathe. I'm watching on a 70" screen, so are people with smaller sets maybe happier than I am?
