Scream responded with this when someone commented on the September schedule being packed:

I don't know if this suggests they're done for September, but with regard to October I wonder what they consider to be light. 4 releases? 5? If so I'm guessing they'll be CE heavy like last year.

Definitely getting Scars of Dracula & Blood From the Mummy’s Tomb. Vampires will depend on extras since I already have the TT release. Will look into the other Hammer titles.

Oct being a lite month seems odd but November is the start of whatever they announce at SDCC I believe.

That would make sense. I'd like to think some kind of box set would come out, but that's probably wishful thinking.. (although an I Know What You Did Last Summer set seems plausible)

Slumber Party Massacre seems feasible. Final Exam would be shocking to see re-released. I'd still tell you to buy both now and not bother waiting around but a new Slumber Party Massacre release from a 4k Scan seems like something that could happen.

It could also be the start of whatever new licenses they have been working on... Warner Deal part 2 perhaps?

You would think October would be there most packed month of the year with it being Halloween and all.

That's what I was hoping for, some really great titles for Halloween, oh well.

Don't try and make false accusations in regards to my post. There's plenty of reasons why I'm not a particular fan of Kino's in general but they still have the ability to put out a quality blu ray and I own some. I've also posted positively on some of those releases on here so your false accusation doesn't hold water just because you don't like that I've posted negatively in regards to Kino on some things.

Scream could make my October by releasing either PRIVATE PARTS (1972) or THE DEVIL RIDES OUT.

I was hoping to see another Val Lewton production announced for September.

The Seventh Victim and I Walked with a Zombie are still maddeningly out of reach.

I'm thinking an IKWYDLS boxset is in the works for a SDCC announcement.

The announcement of a 4K UHD release of Gremlins from WB surely puts the final nail in the coffin for the prospect of Scream being able to licence it. And I really think Nightmare on Elm Street would be in the same boat, I just don't see Warner Bros willing to let that go. We also know from Scream's mouth that Warner were unwilling to licence out Stephen King titles (let's just ignore The Mangler, they probably don't even recognize that as the work of King lol). I mean, if Scream had It (1990), for example, they would surely be looking to get it out for September, October at the latest given the release of the new film.

Before I speculate on others, I think it's pretty evident that Scream's initial deal with WB has run its course, save for some Lewton and Hammer titles. We haven't seen a non-Lewton WB title on the schedule since March, and the last WB CE was in February. I'm hopeful that they can agree another sizeable deal with Warner Bros, if they haven't already. While I'm not expecting anything WB of the non-Hammer/non-Lewton variety among the October titles, I'd love to see some among the SDCC announcements, the fruit of a new deal.

I just hope that next month isn't double-dip Fox and Sony CE overkill. At least throw Road Games and The Fly II in there, I fancy them to both get the CE treatment.

I'll gladly take the Fly II. Never picked up that Australian release.

Same here. I'm not really into Hammer but I'm blind buying the Mummy movie at some point because, well, I like mummies and it's a horror movie I just removed my DVD copy of Fright from my shelf. Might use the disc as a coaster.

As per Scream's comment that October will be light, that seems like a very odd comment, almost like they're trolling us. October - the month of Halloween and horror movies - a light month?

Last year they packed September with 8 releases I think it was and then followed up with 5 IIRC for October, so it's not without precedent. Perhaps their feeling will be quality over quantity (understand I'm not disparaging September's releases, my mention of quality is more in relation to status and how Scream views sales potential).

Let's face it, unless you're a Hammer fan dont expect much but double dips, including CE's and steels and you wont be disappointed. Most of the best stuff have been released already. If no WB deal expect even less. Im pretty picky so I figure Ill maybe pick up one or two titles for the rest of the year.

As much as I'm a fan of when they do boxsets (typically better value and lower cost per movie), I don't see them doing a Last Summer boxset. I see them doing either multiple collector's editions or a collector's of the first and more basic release of the sequels (if doing the sequels at all).

It could be an outright lie, or some sort of word games (trying to think of flics involving light, or lack of).

Remember, they 100% were not the US label for CANDYMAN until 3 days later when they announced it.
