Whatever the October titles end up being, I just hope they're good. Last October was pretty stellar for my personal tastes.

I really hope more than half of the SDCC titles are not double dips or at least not double dips for films that already have great releases. Really interested to see what we get this year.

Yea & how much longer do we have to wait, I purchased nearly every SDCC title last year. No double dips this time unless it’s Elm Street.

Man, I got some catching up to do with some SF titles, but I think I'm gonna hold off and wait for the Criterion sale instead.

I forget, but is this 40% sale bi-annual?

Any chance of SF releasing the House of Wax remake from 2005?

Funny, I've got a US Blu-Ray of Dawn of the Dead already. Granted, it's the rather poor Anchor Bay one, but at least I've got it (even though like you, I'm glad I also grabbed the Ultimate Edition box set).

Not to mention that, as others have said, Second Sight is releasing it in the UK on Blu-Ray (which'll require a region free player in the US, luckily I'm covered ) and on UHD (which doesn't have region locking). They've been killing it with their releases as of late, so I'm anticipating this to be the release to get.

Lionsgate has them through their distribution deal with the Miramax library. I'd be more than down for new releases of those; those transfers are mediocre at best.

It stinks to be disappointed many times when announcements don’t include some of those titles. If they are not being planned and we know this, then people will not keep hoping for them in vain.

I'm not sure if this is for contractual reasons or not, but it's been their standard operating procedure for years now.
And not just Candyman, too. The Tales From The Crypt films, Hell Night, and all of their initial titles were denied by Shout/Scream shortly before their announcements. If they deny a title, take it with quite a few grains of salt.

Go buy/download the well made HD bootleg and put that title out of your mind
Or, if you don't want to buy a bootleg (or keep waiting to see what label managed to get the rights), you can always import the German Blu-Ray. It's Region A-friendly and a good set.

Sony just put out their own Blu-Ray, combining the extras from both the Twilight Time release and the Eureka release (minus the isolated score). I don't see Scream going out of their way to do a release any time soon.

Never? I own three separate releases, and two of them are friendly with Region A players. As others have stated, another is coming soon. It may not be easy to find, but it's definitely been released on BD several times over.

I like the remake but the original relies more on psychological thrills.

I don't see why not. It's a Warner title I believe. It might even be OOP? I forget. Haven't looked at it in a while and feeling lazy right now.

Didn't really like the remake. I have the previous blu release of it. I guess I shouldn't be so negative about it though because I did enjoy it up to a point. What threw me off was
[Show spoiler]when the killer turned out to be a human highlighter. I couldn't really wrap my head around why he was yellow and it really just turned it all into a giant joke for me. Maybe there was something I missed.

Wasn't that one even under Warner's "Dark Castle" like the HAUNTED HILL, etc remakes?

Meanwhile, I can't remember who has (or could have) the rights to these, but, from Scream or any label I'd love to see

A nice CE for TALES FROM THE DARKSIDE: THE MOVIE

Newer movie wise (and despite owning a barebones-ish EU blu), I'd love a stacked, Region 1/A release for THE LOVED ONES.
Also a US release for THE HEAD HUNTER on blu. Not sure why we only got DVD here. But, I'll probably just cave in and import.

I think Tales from the Darkside is with Paramount, so we may be waiting a while for that one. Although they did release the TV series on DVD, so who knows!

Never got around to seeing The Loved Ones. Must have fallen off my radar because I was definitely interested at one point. Not sure who this is with. Found an old DVD listing on amazon.ca that says Warner, so that could be a possibility.

I believe The Loved Ones is with Paramount in the US. They're the ones that released the US DVD.

They did technically release it, but the PQ is so poor and the replacement music scores on every episode are so terrible that I wish they hadn't bothered.

Can you stack B&N membership discounts on top of this?
