Preordered the Omen set from Scream Factory. We had a feeling this one was coming, but I'm pretty impressed with the overall package. The fact that it has the new scan of Omen, the fourth film, plus a good box set seals the deal for me. This will be my first preorder from Scream Factory since Valentine. It feels like their momentum is shifting again. I bet Comic-Con will have quite a few surprises.

Definitely picking up the Devil Rides Out, as well. Makes a great companion piece to Night of the Demon.

That paper set of the Omen is already in the stack to go to McKays...

I’m hoping for Child’s Play 2 and 3 to be among the titles announced at Comic Con.

If a truckload of Paramount titles I want aren't in the cards, and a Nightmare set can't happen, then I agree with you that these would probably be the 2 announcements I would be most excited for from Scream Factory this Comic con. Both seem within grasp but who knows.

What I do know is that Historically folks tend to let expectations and excitement run way to high for the Comic con announcements following what is typically some pretty solid October Announcements. This year is shaping up to be no exception. Last year somewhat bucked that trend but I'd still caution folks about getting their hopes up too high.

For any amazon.ca shoppers, a couple of those new steelbooks (Galaxy of terror, forbidden world) are only $21.99 right now. Not something I'm buying but whoever is interested pretty good pricing for us Canadians on Shout discs.

The Omen sequels could all stink up an outhouse, but I can enjoy Lee Grant in anything, so that makes The Omen II watchable, and the fourth installment is fun made-for-television crap. It pairs well with other telemovie schlock like Child of Darkness, Child of Light, Whatever Happened to Rosemary's Baby, and The Spell (Lee Grant alert!).

I guess I'm in.

The Comic Con announcements usually contain big titles so there’s hope. I know Universal released a few Chucky box sets but both they can co-exist with SF releases like the Psycho 2-4 releases.

Don't forget the Chuck box just took a massive nose dive on it's MSRP recently, which could signal a re-release (or maybe a licensing deal).

The Child’s Play sequels would be nice to go with the first film, especially since Universal’s releases are completely barebones, they don’t even have menus. Also, the transfers are dated.

Everyone was hyping NOES last year and Beetlejuice and that is definitely not what we got, so keep your expectations in check.

Even though I think the current blu rays for Child's Play 2 and 3 are solid I would love special editions for both. I remember TripleHBK stating a couple years ago how much special features there are out there for Child's Play 2 alone and he is right. Just the amount of promotional material alone is crazy. Extended cuts for both films would be awesome as well!

Has anyone had luck finding Return of the Living Dead Part II with a slipcover recently?

Slips are only guaranteed for the first 3 months. After that it’s anyones guess. eBay might be your best bet.

Very true, but I’ve often had luck up to this point. Was just curious if anyone else had luck someplace recently.

It is way past 3 months, so I may just have to bite the bullet.

Is SF likely to do a sale during Comic Con that works for preorders? I recall them having one in the past. If so I might have to put in another preorder for The Omen set with the discount and cancel my original preorder.

It was a glitch iirc. The coupon code wasn’t supposed to work for preorders... or at the very least, the announcements from SDCC.

This is correct. Could there be a sale during comic con? Perhaps. But I wouldn't count on pre-orders being included on any such sale.

To be honest I dont think Ive ever seen it without the slip.

Pretty sure the copies at Grindhouse Video have the slip.

Call the owner before you order to verify.

I paid $30 bucks and I'm sorry; but it was NOT a collector's edition at all. I was hoping at least one of the actresses would have done an on camera interview. It was way overpriced.
