I thought that scream or someone made a soft announcement a while back that they had Alone in the Dark.

Has there been any mention of SF doing a blu for The Incredible Shrinking Man?

I don’t remember that but on the Valentine release if I’m not mistaken there’s an Easter egg with the director of Alone in the Dark & someone mentioned they didn’t think SF would bother getting him for something that only lasts a few minutes.

Hopefully that's the case. One of the biggest holes in a lot of horror collections.

I’d instantly buy Alone in the Dark if SF or anyone else released it.

I think even if there's a Paramount deal, they would save My Bloody Valentine for a Valentine's Day release or announcement. Which I would buy, because I don't have the previous release. Hopefully we at least get some other Paramount titles, because it would be a good sign that we'd get this one eventually.

If the Paramount deal is true, you could expect them to announce My Bloody Valentine around November 2019 for a February 2020 release. Also, I have a feeling that we could get Orca: The Killer Whale and/or Silver Bullet as their "Creature Feature" announcement at Comic Con.

Last year, the Shout Select titles were an absolute joke. I really hope they can up their game this year with a Paramount deal to get titles such as:

Addams Family Values
The Brady Bunch Movie
A Very Brady Sequel
Coneheads
Good Burger
Small Soldiers

The Select line has always been a joke IMO. Dump bin titles at Criterion prices. If Shout intended the Select titles to be some kind of premium line I'd say it's not working out.

$35 for the exact same transfer (despite being advertise as a new remaster) and extras as the MGM release that you can get for under $10.

Yes. MURDER BY DEATH and DIRTY ROTTEN SCOUNDRELS are considered hot trash among comedy films compared to all of those 90s "classics" you listed. (Not that I dislike any of those movies, but....comparing GOOD BURGER and SMALL SOLDIERS to many of the Shout Select line is...something).

That being said, as far as terrible comedies that have found new-ish cult followings,
who has the rights to NOTHING BUT TROUBLE??

Yeah I do have a couple in the line, but looking at the full list I'd say this is an accurate statement

I was originally very excited about Select.

I have quite a few: Midnight Run, Nighthawks, Streets of Fire, Colors...several others.

There's been some good ones.

But, yes, last year's Comic-Con ones were a huge disappointment for me, personally. Mostly just Double Dips of big studio films that already had perfectly good blu rays on the market. Those I listed above were US Region A debuts.

There's a few coming up that I'm interested in, like "Biloxi Blues" and "The Great Waldo Pepper".

I still wish Shout would do a US Reg. A BD of "Tank". I have a German import, but would love to see it come out through Shout. I used to ask them for "Iceman" all the time, too, but now KL says they have that one.

These would be great Shout Select titles. Not sure that Small Soldiers really fits, but I'd be more than happy to buy it! Add in The Beach (2000) from Fox and Pump Up the Volume and I'd be really excited for some Shout Select titles, vs. some of the overpriced re-releases we've seen in the past.

The Leo DiCaprio lead THE BEACH? I haven't seen it in years, wasn't it a bit more horror? Then again, we've seen some odd placements between what is a "Shout" and what is a "Scream" title, so...

Yes, Nightflier was supposedly part of the package that came with Dawn of the Dead and Martin, from what I understood. Wonder if it will pop up with Second Sight...

The biggest disappointment for me last year was the Select announcements. Those were indeed a joke. I'm sure I had my hopes set way too high, but I was expected things like Surviving the Game and Prince of the City. Hopefully the Select line can redeem itself this year (though I was very excited to finally get Someone to Watch Over Me).
