Really, really didn't like it much at all. I'l happily take The Burning on ang given day.
Slaughter High has some pretty awesome kills, but that aside, I kinda agree. It doesn't help when everyone, and I mean EVERYONE, in the movie is an unlikable piece of ****. There's no one to sympathize with, even "innocent nerd" Marty is too gross of a character to care enough about.

I'm a little surprised that out of all the mediocre slashers out there, people will pick on Slaughter High. It ticks a lot of boxes. Good kill scenes, creepy atmosphere, killer wears a mask, super cheesy dialogue, the requisite nudity. It doesn't commit the cardinal sin of having kills offscreen (seriously lame). Or bloodless kills (unacceptable!). Pacing is actually pretty good, it's never boring. Plus it has a nice score from Harry Manfredini. Plenty for me to like here.

Halloween is a slasher, there is no debate about that.

I was thinking the same thing. Slaughter High is miles better than a lot of the Code Red slashers out there IMHO. It's a fun movie.

I've never been a fan of the ending to Slaughter High but other than that I love it. Great kills and I love the killer's outfit.

Speaking about good slashers...This is one of my favorites. All 3 of them.

And to whoever mentioned Halloween isn't a slasher...I'm confused. I guess one could call it a romantic comedy?

For me it fails in the final quarter of the film, especially with the ending where
[Show spoiler]it was all a dream with a last scare moment
. It does have a good filming location and anything with Caroline Munro is worth watching for her.

That would be oilers. I guess he doesn't like that his favorite film is part of a sub-genre he considers beneath him.

Denial yo.

It's a shame they don't do 4K. Only way to get my money again.

Have they announced a Comic Con Shout Factory release panel? I don’t see anything on their SDCC announcement about announcing 2019/2020 releases.

Since the con itself is next weekend, I would assume we'll get an announcement somewhere from Monday to Wednesday at the latest.

Their panel is next Saturday from 8:00 - 9:00 PM PT. They haven't said specifically how many titles they're going to announce, but that this is when they will be announcing them.

Not exactly Scream Factory related but since Shout! has a license deal with Fox, they should try to get the rights to release Home Alone 2 in a special collectors edition under the Shout Factory line.

How is From Beyond as far as a blind buy? I'm thinking of picking it up from the new SF summer sale. Probably the cheapest I will ever find it.

I think it's a lot of fun. Gooey 80's practical effects. A lot of the same team that worked on Re-Animator if you dig that movie. The plot is ridiculous but in a fun, unique way. Barbara Crampton going all S&M if you like the sound of that

I can't imagine you would hate it.
