I remember finding The Burning kind of mediocre the first time I saw it. But it's been almost ten years now, so I've been considering revisiting it and seeing what I think now.

Always enjoyed Final Exam a lot. Good characters and dialogue. The killer is scary because he just looks strange to me and someone crazy like that could actually do that in real life. My main qualm is the prank scene. I get it was a different political climate back then and I’m not ever sensitive about that kind of thing but yiiikes that scene didn’t age well.

I love the killer in Final Exam because he's just some random guy you know nothing about. I find that scary and effective.

I had a very hard time getting past the first 5-10 minutes when I blind purchased it when it was a new release. I think it took me 3 tries, but once it grabbed me, I was in!

As others have said I wouldn't put it on the same tier as 'Halloween' or 'Friday the 13th', but it's very very top second tier slasher for me.

The first time I watched The Burning I thought the same. Couldn’t understand why I got praise most of the time when slashers are brought up. Upon my second however I found that I ended up liking it a lot. Now it’s a slasher I’ll always recommend to anyone who hasn’t seen it.

For me, the most overhyped, overrated slasher on this forum for me is Slaughter High.

Really, really didn't like it much at all. I'l happily take The Burning on any given day.

I need to revisit both films, but as of right now today I'd actually place them on a pretty even level. I enjoy the mean/nastiness of Slaughter High, but the Burning is once again just a much better made film which in and of itself helps to elevate it. I don't love or hate either but can easily see why each has it's share of fans and why people would rate them higher than I personally would.

That’s another one I didn’t care for much on my first viewing but after the second or third it really grew on me.

I hope SF will eventually release Daddy’s Girl. I saw it on TV 20 years ago and William Katt was in it. The film never got a DVD release so I hope it gets released eventually. Same goes for The Birds II Land’s End which also did not get a DVD release outside of Europe.

So, new deals, prior CE for 1, and the remake hitting this year....I don't know how likely it is, but it's not impossible. And there's definitely reason to think it could happen.

I always thought after Halloween II and III they'd do them, but it never happened. After they did the first one, I had even bigger hopes, but now I don't know. I hope so before I die.
