I removed the bandage to apply the first cold compress, and found that I could not see out of that eye at all, save for a shade of crimson red. I realized a couple of seconds later that blood was rapidly gushing out of this eye. I ran into the bathroom, covering my bleeding eye with both hands so that I would not get the blood all over my townhouse. I leaned over the sink and watched blood pouring out of the eye and down my face, wondering how I was going to use a free hand and my free right eye to call the eye clinic to ask them what was going on without getting blood on everything that I own. At the same time, I was scrambling to wash the massive blood gush from my sink and to use tissue paper to wipe blood off of everything that my hands had touched. I poured water on the eye, removed a strand of bloody film from the eyelid, and the bleeding finally stopped after a minute or two.

I proceeded with the 20-minute cold compress, and am now fine, with normal, albeit slightly blurry, vision in my left eye. I did call the clinical staff at the eye clinic, and was told that, while the bleeding is not normal, I would be fine to stick with the plan and apply cold compresses every hour on the condition that I call the emergency line at the clinic if the bleeding resumes.

Hopefully, this will be the worst thing that happens to me all weekend.

On the bright side, I did pre-order the Scream Factory December titles before all hell broke loose with the eye.
Woah. Hope your eyes gets back to normal. That is a horrible experience... Best of luck.

March 2018
Ruptured appendix + infection

July 2018
Passing out experience that resulted in my wearing a heart monitor for a month, being diagnosed with a healthy heart, but also being diagnosed with mild sleep apnea

August 2019
Colon surgery to remove 12 inches of my colon because of a precancerous mass

September 2019
Stye removal + bloody eye

After more than three decades of never going to the hospital for anything, I've been making up for lost time during the past two years.

Hopefully, this is the last of the medical stuff for a while. Collecting Blu-rays and maxing the out-of-pocket for insurance is not a great combination.

On the bright side, I've lost 55 pounds since early May, and am in good shape. I don't recommend colon resection surgery as a general weight loss strategy, though.

Hopefully the worst is behind you Owl. You are right, that is one hell of a weight loss plan....

Not sure if it's been mentioned but Shout is having a pretty good flash sale right now. Pre-orders excluded as usual. I was pretty happy with my haul....

[Show spoiler][Blu-ray ] Murders In The Rue Morgue $18.97
1 [Blu-ray ] The Leech Woman $18.69
1 [Blu-ray ] Circus Of Horrors $18.69
1 [Blu-ray ] Electra Glide In Blue $13.57
1 [Blu-ray ] The Manster $11.86
1 [Blu-ray ] Scarecrows $16.97
1 [Blu-ray ] Tales From The Crypt / Vault Of Horror [Double Feature] $13.57
1 [Blu-ray ] Troll / Troll 2 [Double Feature] $16.14
Sub-Total: $147.80
Shipping: $0.00
Handling: $0.00
Tax: $9.96
Promotion: -$19.34
TOTAL: $138.42

I had never even heard of Scarecrows but after reading your review, Owl, I couldn't resist....

Edit: Just saw Horrornerd mentioned it. I never saw those earlier prices. I probably would have had a heart attack. Still some decent prices, for Shout anyway....

Those prices are incredible if they are honored. Jealous if they honored since I didn't get it, but hoping that my blu ray forum comrades get those awesome deals!

Get well, Owl.

I'll be having my third surgery in two years next week--before 2017, my last (non-dental) surgery was back in 1958.

I fear I may be reaching the age when stuff wears out.

Wish we could get An American Werewolf in Paris (1997) from Scream Factory. Or from anyone actually.

Both Disney and Paramount hold a treasure trove of titles that we’ll probably never see on home media. Although there have been rumblings of things really changing at Paramount, we will see just how extensive that change will be.

I'm going to pick up several titles in my wishlist during this 15% off sale, would you guys recommend the below two as blind buys? They both sound like they'd be up my alley, but wanting to check.
