I recently predicted that Demons of the Mind (the last StudioCanal Hammer title) and The Mummy's Shroud would likely be next on the agenda, along with Rasputin: The Mad Monk, so I'm going to go out on a limb and suggest we'll see that either in February or March.
As for the rest (and I'm limiting this to the sci-fi/fantasy/horror-ish titles), well, it gets a little tricky from this point, since what's left is either Hammer Estate stuff that will very likely require the creation of a new HD master (and which Scream may or may not choose to release), or studio titles which may or may not be with Scream (the Sony titles, for example, may well be with Mill Creek - and they may be mindful of the region-free Indicator releases - while the Warner Bros ones are anyone's guess at the moment). Here's the list: Four Sided Triangle (Hammer) Slave Girls (AKA Prehistoric Women) (Hammer) The Viking Queen (Hammer) Curse of Frankenstein (WB) (Rumour persists Scream have this) Crescendo (WB) (Rumour has it they have this also) Hysteria (WB) She (WB) Moon Two Zero (WB) Frankenstein and the Monster from Hell (Paramount) The Nanny (Fox) The Anniversary (Fox) The Damned (Sony) The Stranglers of Bombay (Sony) The Terror of the Tongs (Sony) Creatures the World Forgot (Sony) Shadow of the Cat (Universal) Last edited by BarnDoor; 01-08-2020 at 04:54 PM. |

For that reason (admittedly Indicator haven't got round to Creatures yet, but it looks like they will), and more pertinently because they're probably with Mill Creek, I think the Sony titles are unlikely to come from Scream.

Could well be, but unless something happened we're unaware of I guess they'll be waiting a long time for that new 4K restoration now. Might be that they ended up dropping it, and Scream probably wouldn't be as picky about using an older master.

In for the two Hammer titles. Really looking forward to demons of the Mind, another one I've not seen before.
I'm with BarnDoor, Rasputin has to be one of the next titles. As for what's left I'm not sure we'll get everything on that list: X The Unknown (Hammer) - I think this is likely The Lost Continent (Hammer) - Also likely Four Sided Triangle (Hammer) - This one I think is fairly unlikely Slave Girls (AKA Prehistoric Women) (Hammer) - Also unlikely The Viking Queen (Hammer) - Unlikely (though they did release Vengeance of She but I'm thinking it was probably one of the weakest sellers for the Hammer output) Curse of Frankenstein (WB) (Rumour persists Scream have this) - I still think if they had this it would have been out by now, it would be a decent seller compared to a lot of the other Hammer titles Crescendo (WB) (Rumour has it they have this also) - this is likely yet Hysteria (WB) - likely She (WB) - Again I think this would be out by now if they had it especially since they already released Vengeance of She and this is another big Hammer title Moon Two Zero (WB) - Unlikely, this one is not well liked and isn't horror at all it's a space western if I recall correctly Frankenstein and the Monster from Hell (Paramount) - Very likely Captain Kronos - Vampire Hunter (Paramount) - Very likely, I think these 2 could be some of the Feb/Mar titles The Nanny (Fox) - This one seems possible if another label doesn't have the rights The Anniversary (Fox) - Unlikely, more of a dark comedy I believe, but it does star Bette Davis so some would buy for that alone The Damned (Sony) - All 4 of these Sony titles are very unlikely, none are true horror films and they are likely with Mill Creek. I'd actually rather pick up these lesser titles from Mill Creek cheap than pay $20+ each from Scream. The Stranglers of Bombay (Sony) The Terror of the Tongs (Sony) Creatures the World Forgot (Sony) Shadow of the Cat (Universal) - I think this one is unlikely it never even got a DVD release and is almost never mentioned. I do hope they all get releases eventually, but I just don't think Scream will bother with some of these. We could be through all the Hammer stuff by Summer 2020 if they keep doing 2 a month, definitely by the end of 2020 if they do 1 a month or release some of the stuff I'm not expecting. |

I think most of your summations are very sound, though the situation with Curse of Frankenstein is complex due to the apparent effort (and surely cost) required with a new restoration. Also, in recent times (and this is pure speculation on my part) the situation may have changed (for the better) as a result of StudioCanal's new distribution deal with Hammer in Europe and other parts of the world. It seems that this has now given them home video rights to Hammer Estate titles which were previously licenced to Icon, which includes Curse of Frankenstein. One would think that StudioCanal would want to put out their own release of Curse of Frankenstein, so perhaps they are willing to share costs with Scream/Warner for the scan and restoration? Scream have been licencing from StudioCanal and funding new restorations, so there's obviously a decent relationship there.
As for Shadow of the Cat, if Scream don't have it, I'm not convinced it's with Universal in the US (either that or there are legal issues involved), since I'm sure Kino would have picked it up in their deal. Last edited by BarnDoor; 10-05-2019 at 03:46 PM. |

Anyone else find it curious that we didn't get our January Collectors edition announcement on Friday with the other announcements? It may mean nothing but I'm curious if another multi-release announcement is planned again like what was seen for December with Big Trouble in Little China?

Invaders from Mars and the Blacula double are OOP. Sorry if this was mentioned earlier.
