Would go for all of these. However, since Scream recently said the studio wouldn't let them have the Chucky sequels due to it being an "active series," I figure that probably also explains why they haven't gotten any of the Tremors movies yet.

I did here there was an elements issue at some point.

Agreed. I enjoy these forums a lot, but I’m baffled by the “you pissed in my Fruit Loops” level comments of some posters. We’re all GEEKS twirping on about this release or that. Anyone getting up in arms about any of it (purchasing habits, personal taste) needs to take a couple seats.

Between people annoyed at others snapping up OOP titles they may have slept on too long and VS fans arguing over porn/horror/art house, can’t we all just collect and enjoy the fact that our ridiculous hobby is enjoyed by enough people to warrant these forums to begin with?

Lol. Definitely don't bother looking at their facebook group or the comments in any Dark Force livestream it's way worse than on here.

There are two volumes, four movies each. And I might add that the transfers are way superior to the US counterparts. And they are all region (A,B,C). I don't know how well "The Tingler" and "Strait-jacket" have been selling, but Shout/ Scream have been complaining lately about low sales regarding older horror movies, leading them to cancel Val Lewton's "Isle of the Dead" starring Boris Karloff. If Kino has gotten a hold of some of the others you mentioned, that would be huge over Shout/Scream.
I'm only referring to stand-alone Blu-Ray discs by Shout/Scream for the remainder of the Warner/Sony William Castle films! I'm aware of House on Haunted Hill already being in The Vincent Price Collection Volume 2, I'm more referencing that SF should do a single release of the film. I'm not interested ina region 2 UK releases either, nor the Mill Creek double feature Blu-Rays!!!

If SF have been complaining lately about low sales regarding older horror movies, then they should be doing more box sets like A William Castle Box Set or a Val Lewton Box Set etc... They have more then 20+ horror films pre-1960s, so I assume some must sell for SF to keep getting licenses for them!!!!

Thanks for the tip about hamiltonbooks. I managed to snatch Ghoulies/ Ghoulies II, Dead of Winter (because someone here recommended it), Blacula/ Scream, Blacula, Scream and Scarecrows.

Sadly, I was apparently a bit too late for New Years Evil, but oh well, you win some, you lose some.

This thread in particular seems to bring out many folks who seem to have zero interest in any films made before they were born and who absolutely love to disparage them as if it's a badge of honor to do so. Because I am just the opposite and enjoy media from all eras, I would never think to brag about being so limited in my tastes, much less ridicule the stuff I have no interest in. Then again, message boards are not known for graciously allowing others to be different. Nor am I by evidence of this post!

Noted horror historian Tom Weaver generally dislikes Hammer gothics.

I also enjoy participating in the various threads and do my best to avoid saying anything that may offend or otherwise cause someone to react unreasonably but some folks just can't resist looking for reasons to denigrate others. Like someone's opinion actually causes them physical harm or something. And while I do find some members slightly annoying (the horndog on the Vinegar Syndrome thread who suggested people who don't want the label to focus on porn "fear the female form" lol and the poonslayer who doesn't realize that bragging about bedding countless women went away with the 80's get on my nerves), I try hard not to react to their crusades. It's all about resisting temptation to go off on people and just accepting that we're all different. We're all here for the same reasons

Mate, you do go off on people, just like you are in this post now. I find you really argumentative, condescending and boring in all honesty.

Have a good day.

P.S. Please block me and we are all good brother.

Who says I'm talking about you?

BTW, I've NEVER been accused of being boring. And argumentative? Perhaps, but wouldn't it TRULY be boring if I just posted shipping updates and asked if something comes with a booklet?

I am open to all eras of film, especially Horror. However, Hammer films seemed to slip past me as I was growing up. I always knew about them, but never really checked them out. I wouldn't even know where to start. I'd hate to pick one of the lesser quality ones as a starting point and decide they're not for me.

And that is why i love film forums. When people aren't bashing other's opinions, or bashing the bashing of other's opinions, we get some quality film discussion in at the same time.

So, Hammer fans, I ask (with slight fear of redundancy haha) where is a good place to start? I love most horror, but especially atmospheric ones.

I'd start with "Curse of Frankenstein (1957)" or "Horror of Dracula/Dracula (1958)". Both are an excellent litmus test.

Just an FYI, Curse of Frankenstein is only available on DVD in the US right now, but it's a solid DVD.
Horror of Dracula is available on blu ray from Warner Archives.
