That’s a bummer. It would be nice if they wanted to make up for their awful release. But that’s just me dreaming of a perfect world.

One of my favorite movies and the Blu-ray looked worse than the dvd.
It absolutely did not look worse than the DVD. For one (major) thing, the DVD was non-anamorphic.

I honestly don't think it will ever look good. While I don't have perfect memory, I recall thinking it was grungy when I saw it at an advanced screening. A "better" Blu-ray would be revisionist, and that's just wrong.

Ravenous is a Fox title, so even if another label picked it up, they'd be stuck with that master because Fox will not let boutique labels touch their elements.

It could look better and would not be revisionism. The same source was used for the Blu-ray that was used for the original 1999 DVD.

If I remember correctly Scream Factory mentioned on Facebook when they got this film that Fox would only allow them to use the same source as the DVD and that they were sorry for the quality but their was nothing they could do about it. Also they weren't allowed any of the deleted footage shot by Milcho Manchevski for legal reasons or something....

Maybe Disney will allow new transfers in the future?

I feel like that's one Universal would likely put out themselves. It wouldn't be the first time they licensed out to another label and then did their own 4K release later (see: Waterworld).

And while Universal does own Halloween II and III, I'm pretty sure Scream owns those transfers (I think, I could be wrong).

3) Anthony Hinds (The Curse of the Werewolf CE)
4) Terence Fisher (Frankenstein and the Monster from Hell)
5) Freddie Francis (The Evil of Frankenstein CE)
6) Christopher Lee (Curse of Frankenstein)
7) Peter Cushing (The Brides of Dracula CE)
8) Anthony Nelson Keys (These Are the Damned)
9) John Gilling (The Shadow of the Cat)
I will always associate Hammer with the music of James Bernard.

No, that's Wade Williams, who's stated that he would love to see the film get a proper release BUT will never allow the MST3K version to see the light of day...he's even including that little proviso in the trust he'll leave when he dies.

I believe these are the horror films with Hart:

It Conquered the World
The Amazing Colossal Man
I Was a Teenage Frankenstein
I Was a Teenage Werewolf
Invasion of the Saucer Men
Terror from the Year 5000

The Eye Creatures (TV)
Zontar, The Thing from Venus (TV)

Ah, okay. That sucks about the MST3K version, although I do have that recorded on a VHS tape from the '90s. I would like to see the film get its own release, though.

I would love to see the "I Was A Teenage" films on blu-ray. This is promising news! Hopefully they will finally see a home release in the very near future.

Susan Hart also owns NAKED PARADISE (aka THUNDER OVER HAWAII) and perhaps a couple of westerns such as OKLAHOMA WOMAN.

The Susan Hart deal would tie in nicely with the AIP titles Scream is releasing, especially since that would include War of the Colossal Beast the sequel to The Amazing Colossal Man.

I think he talks about owning the one with new effects he added
The original is likely public domain.

Is there a good link to what movies Susan Hart owns the rights to?

Absolutely love War of the Colossal Beast. It still gives me the major creeps even after a dozen viewings.
