My Disappointment Factor would likely go off the chart if we went from Monthly Hammer announcements to Sony re-releases with no new scan. Outside of the few Paramount titles that are starting to trickle out now it's been a long time since I've had some announcements to get exited over. I think it's a fine idea to have Scream Factory release the "I Know" films and I'd likely end up purchasing them eventually, I just hope they are announced at a time where there is plenty of other excitement going on and a more varied announcement slate. The last thing I need is the announcement of 3 more Hammer titles only a handful of people get excited over and then more recycled Sony scans thrown in the bunch. Preferably I'd like to see some of the long requested Corman Properties announced or more Warner/Paramount titles to go along with either the Hammer stuff or the Sony re-releases.
Comic-Con seems like the perfect place for that kind of announcement/disappointment if I'm being honest. On an unrelated note though I doubt that there is anything that could be done for the release, I'd be lying if I said I wouldn't be interested in seeing a collectors edition of "Terror in the Aisles" from Scream Factory if there is/was anything that could be assembled for the film. I feel like it deserves better than being relegated to an extra on the Halloween 2 Universal disc but for the life of me don't know that it has anything else that can be done for it. I suppose I'm just happy to have it in HD at all but it feels like the kind of Disc that could be included in a box set from Scream Factory if for no other reason than to make another project that much more extensive and so that this film would finally get it's own release... even if it is in a limited run. We have been getting two new Paramount films a month, so I'm expecting that trend to continue. I'm hoping next week we get at least one of Tales From the Darkside, Orca, the Deadzone, or A Simple Plan. |

I always like to see a good balance in Scream's schedules. And for April and May's announcements, I don't think anyone can argue that the balance has been wrong (look I'm as big a fan of Hammer as anyone, but let's be realistic here). There were 9 titles announced, and of those:
5 are Hammer (I'm not including Shatter as that's not a Scream title) 2 are Arkoff 2 are post-1980 titles, but both are CEs of films with an existing Blu-ray release There's a distinct lack of 'new to Blu' post-1960 non-Hammer stuff here, and this is particularly frustrating/disappointing since we know Scream have multiple exciting deals going on (Paramount especially, but Warner Bros also, and there's still some interesting Sony stuff without a Blu-ray release). For June, I'd like to see something like (the delayed The Spider notwithstanding): One Hammer (let's say another Universal CE) Universal Classic Horror Collection Volume 5 (last one was in February, so it seems likely) Paramount CE (preferably new-to-Blu) Paramount non-CE (new-to-Blu) Another new-to-blu title from another studio (Warner, Sony, even a Universal TV movie) And if they get generous and give us 6 or 7, feel free to add another Hammer (especially if it's Crescendo or Hysteria) and maybe an Arkoff title. However, I have a feeling it's more likely to be this: Hammer x 2 (Universal CE and another title from the Hammer Estate) Universal Classic Horror Collection Volume 5 An Arkoff title Something else (probably Paramount, maybe a CE) Point is I hope they strike a decent balance going forward (in my view March represents the most recent example of them getting this right). |

Yeah, a good balance is key. There seems to be a lot of rereleases for April and May minus a few here and there. I'm really hoping for some good stuff next week, but who knows for sure. They might be saving their bigger titles for closer to Halloween for September and October, but this past October was slim pickens, so who knows.

I can dream I suppose but I’d like to see some franchises finished on Blu as well as some lesser loved films that could be of interest to some
Candyman- Day of the Dead The Birds 2/Rear Window (remake) nice little 2 pack Cruel Jaws- it does have a listing here again, pair it with something Jade with DC shots- SF doesn’t seem to mind throwing in shots from various sources Urban Legend 3 Turbulence Trilogy Book of Shadows bW2 Stepfather sequels The Ring 2 with extended cut Mothman Prophecies Masterblaster From their other lines, I’d love to see some teacher films. Highly underrepresented on Blu. Dangerous Minds, Stand and Deliver, 187 w/ proper color grading), the Substitute series, I was thinking there was another good one from the 90s but I can’t remember it. Surviving the Game Revenge (Costner) we need the other cut of the film. German copy is rather washed out I throw these titles out as I’ve emailed many companies and they say no, or not in the pipeline |

aren't they almost out of HAMMER options anyway? It's not like they have a giant bucket of Hammer titles and 70% of their releases are going to be coming from there going forward.... |

Brides of Dracula CE Phantom of the Opera CE Kiss of the Vampire CE Slave Girls The Viking Queen Crescendo (it seems they've licenced this from Warner Bros) Curse of Frankenstein (as above) The rest would be dependent on licencing deals/interest: Hysteria (I have to think Scream also acquired this if they nabbed Crescendo) She (another WB title, but makes sense since Scream released the follow-up) Moon Two Zero (WB, but Scream might pass on this) The Damned (Sony, but I could see them releasing this themselves) The Stranglers of Bombay (as above) The Terror of the Tongs (as above) Creatures the World Forgot (as above) The Nanny (Fox, but I think we'd have seen it by now if Scream had it) The Anniversary (as above) Four-Sided Triangle (Hammer estate, but they might pass) Shadow of the Cat (Universal, and not with Kino, but probably element/legal issues) Other than this you'd have the possibility of CE's of Warner titles (i.e. Horror of Dracula, The Mummy, etc) but I'd be surprised if they went that route, except perhaps for Horror of Dracula. But to your point, yes, I'd be very surprised if they weren't done with Hammer by the end of the year at the latest (depending on the Curse of Frankenstein situation), probably earlier at the pace they're going. |

It’s shocking to me since Mangold has gotten more popular due to Logan and Ford v Ferrari, that he hasn’t gone back to his work and gotten them re-released. Heavy needs to be seen by more people. |

If they released nothing else I want but the Kolchak series I would be happy. I just don't know if a label has it. All Kino keeps saying is either a label has it or Universal will release it themselves. Wish I knew which because I dont trust Uni to release it.

I really really think that I Know/ I Still Know What You Did Last Summer .. will be released for June... either 1 and 2 as Ce's or a boxset... although I'm not sure who owns the 3rd movie... but I'd be very surprised if they dont show up soon... I would pick them up since I dont already have them yet... and I have a soft spot for them... I always thought of them as being relatable to the scream movies...

![]() ![]() It's all fun and games until space aliens land in the woods behind your rural home, take over the minds of your parents and schoolteachers by injecting the backs of their necks, and then place the entire town under the control of a massive brain-shaped extraterrestrial leader. This exact fate befalls David Gardner, a schoolboy played by Hunter Carson (Paris, Texas), as he watches his parents, played by Timothy Bottoms (The Last Picture Show) and Laraine Newman (Saturday Night Live) behaving in erratic ways while his teacher, played by Louise Fletcher (One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest), seems hellbent on adding him to the list of enslaved humans. His school nurse, played by Karen Black (Five Easy Pieces) believes him, and the two of them are able to summon the aid of the U.S. military, but even soldiers and firepower may not be enough to stop the intergalactic menace from spreading its influence across an unsuspecting populace. The 1986 science fiction horror remake, Invaders from Mars, does not quite match the nightmarishly ominous tone of the original 1953 film of the same name, but it nonetheless excels as a wildly fun time capsule relic from the days of my youth when the larger-than-life aesthetic of Steven Spielberg and George Lucas movies ruled over all with a blend of dazzling special effects and unlikely optimism. Director Tobe Hooper (The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, Lifeforce) helms the proceedings by replacing his grisly earlier works with a family-friendly perspective while still remaining grounded in the arena of cinema scares. The special effects by Stan Winston and John Dykstra command respect and awe, along with a high-five during one particular scene where an alien monster eats a teacher. I love how Hooper simultaneously pays homage to the spirit of 1950s sci-fi screen stories while expanding the palette on a visual level. There is something outright terrifying on a hardwired-from-birth level about seeing your parents and other trusted people in the community act differently than expected, and this Communism scare aspect of the original story is carried over well into the 1980s incarnations of conformity in average communities. When you watch your elementary school teacher put a lab dissection frog into her mouth and swallow it whole, you know that things are about to get real. James Karen (Poltergeist, The Return of the Living Dead) could do no wrong during the 1980s, and he is perfect here as a Marine general. This Scream Factory Blu-ray delivers the otherworldly goods with a solidly satisfying technical presentation in high definition. I found nothing wanting about the audio and video presentations. The Tobe Hooper commentary track is a blast, as are the present-day cast/crew interviews in the documentary. |

I had one in my Ebay watchlist for $12.96 + free shipping. Didn't grab it in time and now I can't find it either. Diabolik says they have more coming soon for $13.99. Probably be slightly cheaper than Shout with shipping + receive it a hell of a lot faster from Diabolik.
