My thoughts exactly. Short of a Friday the 13th set or Nightmare on Elm street set announcement the only thing that would leave me more excited would be the announcement of some Lionsgate properties.. that said, I'm still not expecting any announcements this Friday.

Constant carping about pointless repeat F13th and Elm Street box sets...business as usual in the Scream thread, I see.

Nothing pointless about wanting definitive box sets with new extras and updated scans for two of the biggest horror franchises of all time.

Pretty much yeah. The alternative was a month of silence after some more Hammer announcements so I'll take the wish list talk.

Just wanted to recommend the remake of Rabid. I thought it was really well done, some good sfx & I enjoyed it a lot. Im not a fan of Cronenberg's Rabid & honestly thought this one was better.

Well said. You could also mention there’s the pointless, typical thread non-logic that a rerelease of a popular title(or franchise) somehow negates the release of(insert wildly obscure title never released on disc here).
Ya know “business as usual” stuff.

I literally asked Larry Zerner over twitter last month if a new box set would be affected by the lawsuit and he said they’re still allowed to release the old films.

Paramount is releasing a metalpak edition of the original Friday in May so clearly they still can release the old films.

Waxwork is also planning to announce the vinyl soundtrack for part 7 tomorrow so clearly they can still release Friday the 13th merchandise that has to do with the old films. I’m not saying definitively that we’re gonna get a box set, but SF has a deal with BOTH Paramount and WB so a complete box set IS possible from them, so it’s not entirely out of left field for people to assume.

I still need to check this out as well. The original has a scene in a movie theater with the "stinger" that I saw when I was somewhere around 6-7 on USA Saturday Nightmares and for the next 28-29 years it haunted my thoughts as I desperately tried to figure out what film it was. It was my only movie memory that I couldn't figure out for decades until finally watching the film 2-3 years ago. As far as Cronenberg stuff goes Rabid left me a bit underwhelmed comparatively to the other Cronenberg works so I'm very curious to see how this new edition fairs by comparison. I loved American Mary but their other stuff hasn't really impressed me much.

I think the questions around the films pertain to the idea of A) Can Paramount license them out currently and B) Can new special features be created? I believe Paramount could release the existing films and any older materials themselves, but would anything newly created/licensed count as well? That's my question.

The second 'The Men Who Made Hammer' segment (Roy Ashton) will be included on Curse of the Werewolf. But we now know there will be 10 rather than 9. With only 3 known Hammer releases to come (surely The Lost Continent will have one on Michael Carreras), that still suggests 5 unannounced Hammer titles are coming, unless they put multiple installments on one release. I think it's safe to say there will also be episodes on Terence Fisher (possibly as early as Frankenstein and the Monster from Hell, though there will be other candidates), James Carreras (unless they cover both father and son together), Anthony Hinds (they might do him and William together), James Bernard, Bernard Robinson (a Phantom of the Opera CE might be the best place for this), Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing (if they're doing actors). They've surely missed the boat on Nigel Kneale.

For the record, those Curse of the Werewolf final specs:

Well, my OMEN collection is ready for pick up at my nearest WM. We'll see after I pick it up if I get the 20 credited back.

I recently ordered Rabid from WM for $17.43.

I then got a notice that my order was delayed, and then cancelled:

Quote:
Thanks for your recent order. We're really sorry, but the items shown below were canceled due to a system error that kept us from processing orders. We're working to fix the error and hope to have a solution soon.
"Fortunately" it's available again for $22.97.

For those who did do ISPU for this set the other day...how long after the pick up confirmation email did you get the "crediting 20 back" email?

It was immediate. I got the email before I’d gotten back in my car.

Cool. Maybe I'll try emailing their customer service tomorrow. The pick up confirmation email took 30-45 mins, but nothing after/since.
