I also love the remake and prefer it between the two but the original really grew on me over the course of a few viewings years ago, and now I quite enjoy it as well. With no other release looking imminent, my brother is just waiting for pre-orders to start to nab us a copy of it and Martin.

I'm glad they're offering separate Blu-ray and UHD versions so that we can just a Blu-ray copy.

As for the Second Sight release, it looks great but I'm not a 4K user nor do I have a region free player (but i def should get it).
Your talking about a man who spent 6 million dollars converting Dawn of the Dead to 3D, when nobody asked for that....
Has anyone seen it? was it shown at Beyond Fest? For him to recoup that kind of money the film would need to get a major wide release, He hasn't even bothered doing a theatrical road show. In interviews he talked about starting the conversion in 2007 and it took 10 years! The 3D craze came and went during that time.
My theory is Rubinstein held off on allowing a North American distributor release of DOTD in an attempt to get the 3D version in theaters, since that never happened he's now slowly caving on the price of a Blu-Ray releases...

Now that the June titles are up for preorder on their website, I preordered Thirteen Ghosts, Tales from the Darkside, and Orca. I haven't seen Orca, but it looks like it has a solid cast and I had a $10 promo code I needed to use before it expires later this month.

I hope Scream Factory get a hold of Jason Goes To Hell & release the Unrated Cut on bluray. Perhaps an unrated extended cut with the extra scenes used for tv broadcast.

Maybe they can also do a new bluray for The Monster Squad depending on who owns the rights and bring back all the special features that were absent on the Olive release along with new ones..

I saw it back in October 2018 when it was showing for a week here in Cleveland, Ohio. It was okay. There were a few shots that looked good with the 3D effect but for the most part it was a waste. The print that was used for the 3D conversion was also pretty muddy and murky with some visible dirt and damage as well, from what I remember.

What's the confirm on Scream having Black Castle? I only ask cause it's the only film left on that Karloff set and I would pull it from my shelves if I know I can move it soon(ish).

The Kino Insider confirmed it was with another label, and all things considered I think it must be Scream. Also, I think Kino would have picked up more 50s horrors if available, so that probably suggests Cult of the Cobra and The Thing That Couldn't Die are also with Shout (the elusive Curucu would complete the line-up of a potential 50s set).

Got it! But it's somewhere, I guess is the best takeaway (and you're right, probably Scream is the best bet).

I just bought these sets like a year ago too (Inner Sanctum, Karloff, and Universal Horror) thinking they'd never get the jump. Glad I was wrong!

I'm 99% sure that Monster Squad belongs with Lionsgate. I actually was hoping that it is one of the "2 to 4" (depending on who you ask) titles that they still plan to release under the Vestron umbrella (that's a big "if" though considering it's been a long-ass time since they released anything).

Paramount, that is why the Lionsgate release went OOP and then Olive released it.

Really want scream factory to get Metamorphosis the alien flick from the 90s. So fun, with awesome effects.
Also really want Guyver 2, Rumplestilskin, Sleepstalker, Project Metalbeast and would love Night Life as well. Please lol

I'm don't think Shout can get any of the titles Olive currently has licensed. When they went to Paramount a couple of years ago for MST3K movies they were allowed Diabolik but were denied Space Children and Deadly Bees.

Apparently Bruce Hallenbeck has said that Shadow of the Cat is coming to Blu-ray, but he stopped short of revealing the label in question. All things considered (it's not with Kino, he's worked generally with Scream, Scream love Hammer), I don't think it takes a rocket scientist to work out who that label will be.

I can't find the source. I think it might have been the Hammer Horror on Blu-ray facebook group, as there's a post about the film and I can see a reply thanking Bruce for the 'great news', but not his actual post. Might be that it's restricted to friends, or that he's since deleted it.

Hey Guys!

I wanted to place a big order direct with Scream.

Anyone know if they shipped yesterday or today?

Curious to know if there is a delay in shipping cause of virus.

Thanks, BarnDoor, for the information update. Shadow of the Cat is a great, but sometimes overlooked Hammer film. I still wonder why Universal didn't include it in their Hammer Horror collection. It was made in 1961 after Curse of the Werewolf (same year), and both films played as a double bill in many theaters back then.

Shadow has not even had a DVD release in the US. So if Scream Factory has it, it would be awesome to have a blu-ray release! I know some people have criticized Scream for releasing so many Hammer titles over the past few months, but Shadow has, for whatever reason, been ignored for too long.

As it is, back when it was made, Hammer was not even credited because of some sort of contractual problems with Universal. Perhaps that contributed to this film falling between the cracks.

There’s no way Monster Squad isn’t on their Paramount wish list plus another NECA collaboration (Horace?) would be a no-brainer after Night of the Creeps.
