The workprint that was going around has lots of extra subplots and gets really crazy toward the end. Perhaps some of that will be included as extras since tapes of this have been circulating since the 90s.

Are you talking about Friday the 13th or Jason Goes to Hell?

Hopefully it will get a single release as well. I'm happy enough with my tin box set.

I dont understand how people have not seen the directors cut of Jason Goes to Hell since thats how it was originally released on Vhs back in the day. I guess later on in the DVD days it was released as r rated? Anyway the digital version of the blu ray set came with the directors cut.

Maybe that's why people hate the movie so much because they've been watching the rated version.

The DVD had the unrated cut. The Blu-ray was the first time it was released as the R-rated cut only.

I am just wondering why this thread is acting like the directors cut of Jason Goes to Hell is finally being unearthed after 25 years.

Happy to help! There are a handful of other first-rate episodes of this series that I highly recommend for nostalgia buffs. For instance, I really like House of Evil too---a very young Jodie Foster does a great job (and hey, that's the Bewitched set, slightly re-dressed!):

Or they could keep trying to stack it as much as possible and release it in November, the next month this year with a Friday the 13th in it.

And now with the Paramount deal they could get Jade (Director's Cut) and Sliver (unrated cut in proper aspect ratio)

I wouldn't be shocked if this happened but because they'd miss the halloween season and put what is likely going to be a $250 msrp set into the holiday shopping season I don't see it happening. September or maybe the first week of October is where my money is set... assuming of course it comes from Scream Factory.

it’s confounding that people want another friday box set. how much money would have to be spend to clean up materials, that probably won’t be in good shape because paramount wasn’t even proud of the movies when they were making money for them?

and what are getting excited about? ten seconds of vhs footage from 30 year old movies? yes. that will really change how we view these movies.

this would be at least the fourth dvd/blu ray release, in a shrinking physical media market. but you paramount is going to finally care and put out a decent package now? oh yeah, and they would make less money ultimately, because they will probably have to pay attorneys fees on that lawsuit AND maybe pay out on the verdict.

but don’t let all these things stop you. paramount definitely cares about you and will make sure that this new edition will be the one you’ve always wanted and only had to wait forty years to get.

give me more movies that haven’t been release on blu/dvd/vhs instead.

Shout's specialty is re-releasing the same shit over and over. A Friday box set is perfect for them to release.

With all this talk about the Friday movies, do you think there's a chance for a new Scream Nightmare on Elmstreet set, including Unrated cuts for parts 1 and 5 as well as part 6's finale in proper 3D?

Unlike Friday the 13th - Part III, the finale of Nightmare 6 was always meant to be watched in anaglyphic 3D (with the red-green glasses).

Not saying it is not going to happen, but I would not set my expectations very high for them to change that, if Scream do indeed have/ get the rights for the Elm Street series.

It would still be nice to get that finale in anaglyphic 3D on blu-ray, though. I have kept my old DVD box set for that sole reason.

You bought the Halloween set (which had also already been released multiple times in different forms). You’ll do the same with this.

So you want more of an incontrovertibly awful movie, one that most Friday fans shame as the worst of the Paramount series.

This does nothing for anybody.

Heh. Again, why let sound logic get in the way of a good message board rant.
