Wow! I was going to bail out when I saw that they add sales tax now, but this more than made up for it.

update: Well, looked good at first but now they want $6.99 for shipping so I will need to look for another item to add to the order

update 2: That made my order too expensive and due to all the other stuff I've bought this weekend (there's some really good deals on some sites due to their stores being closed) $75 is too much to spend at the moment. So I guess I forget about it for now.

And when did they start charging immediately for pre-orders? I don't remember that from the past. Of course I could be wrong maybe they always have.

Probably from next Monday (6th April), though it's very possible that current events might change things.

The Lost Continent looks stacked:

Quote:
NEW 2K Scan Of The Original Film Elements From The 20th Century-Fox Vault - Theatrical Cut
NEW 2K Scan Of The Original Film Elements From The 20th Century-Fox Vault (With Standard Definition Inserts) - Extended Cut
NEW Audio Commentary With Film Historian/Editor/Publisher Richard Klemensen
NEW The Men Who Made Hammer: Michael Carreras
NEW Uncharted Seas: Kim Newman On The Lost Continent
NEW A Conversation With Dana Gillespie
NEW An Interview With Actor Norman Eshley
NEW An Interview With Special Effects Artist John Richardson
NEW An Interview With Music Arranger Howard Blake
World Of Hammer Episode “LANDS BEFORE TIME”
Theatrical Trailer
TV Spots
Shame they couldn't find better quality elements for the longer cut, but it's better than nothing.

A new scan of a Fox title? That's a first (not counting the existing 4K scan of The Omen).

It's not a Fox title (it was licenced from Hammer). However, they have been able to access Fox-held elements for certain Hammer titles, as was the case with Dracula: Prince of Darkness and The Devil Rides Out.

Speaking of stacked, it's nice to see that there's an interview with Dana Gillespie. She later became a blues shouter of some note, releasing several albums.

Actually, she started singing in the early 60s, doing folk/pop material. She was eventually signed to Mainman Management, David Bowie's managers, and Bowie wrote "Andy Warhol" for her. She recorded with Mick Ronson during this time. Later she went to blues.

What’s the odds off an Omen stand-alone release? I assume slim to none as it’ll help sell the set if there is no release of the single film everyone wants.

It might eventually get a solo 4k release based on it's popularity... but who knows how long...

I'd like to see that. I've never seen the sequels and don't really have much interest in them, but I love the first film and would like to own the newly-remastered version.

Zero chance unless it's put out by Fox themselves, which with them now under the control of Disney...

Also, unlike Arrow, Scream has never released stand-alone titles from any of their sets. That may be their prerogative or that may be studio/rights-holder mandated. Who really knows.

Thanks for the tip on the $10.00 coupon! Does anyone have any recommendations? I was thinking of choosing 1-2 from the below (I haven't seen any of them):

Escape From New York
Deathstalker / Deathstalker II
My Blood Valentine
Big Trouble in Little China
Silent Night, Deadly Night Part 2
Creepshow (I've seen it and love it, but that release looks really good)

You can’t go wrong with any of the titles you’ve selected. MBV is a favorite and SNDN 2, but really those are all great...even DEATHSTALKER. Though, that one is limited and I believe close to being sold out, so you should probably jump on that if your interested.

It begins...

Thirteen Ghosts put back to 28th July

Tales from the Darkside put back to 11th August

Guess this was inevitable, but I wonder how it will affect other previously scheduled (and presently unannounced) titles for July and August?

Even if Disney didn't change a thing about how the home video arm of Fox operates, I'd guess the most likely result would be a 4K disc for The Omen, with none of the extras Scream added to their release (like what happened to Halloween).

It would depend on Fox/Disney. I will say even with the merger they've been pretty flexible with sublicensing their titles to Shout! again, but they need to keep doing it more often.

Shout! should also compromise on an idea that if they can't do new restorations of the Fox films, maybe they can commission Fox to do them. Both companies would make a great deal of money that way.

Speaking of Disney, they also REALLY need to consider about starting a sublicensing deal with Shout!. I won't expect Disney films, but I will expect TV titles from theirs and their libraries.

I mean, Big City Greens and Wander Over Yonder on both formats? Yes please!
