Hmm. You're probably right. But since Scream Factory has already dipped four times into the Universal Hammer set and expecting to do it again with Brides of Dracula, what do you think about the prospect of that set going OOP? And if it does, how would that affect Scream's plans with the remaining three titles, if they have any plans at all?

Cool announcements! Not gonna lie though, like everybody else I was hoping to hear about the inevitable announcement of the Friday set. What's everyones guesses on when they will announce that? Soon? Maybe they adjusted their announcement plans due to the leaks? I would assume if they were going to announce it soon, they might allude some teases?

I really hope you're wrong. I would like to see one more set, at least. There are a few good titles on your list there that would be nice to own with restored picture and sound.

I'm trying to remember if there's a precedent for a Universal title going OOP once Scream released it. I know we've seen that with other studios, but I can't recall a Universal example.

I think as well that including Hammer titles proper would be disingenuous, since this series is billed as 'Classic Universal Horror', and they merely distributed Hammer titles. Scream can just about get away with Shadow of the Cat because of the BHP Productions thing (muddying the Hammer waters somewhat), and it being probably the last chronological title in these sets.

My understanding is that the outerbox is considered a part of the set and will be included on all editions regardless of the production time. Someone else can correct me if I'm wrong but Shout's website doesn't have any sort of disclaimer about the slipbox being time limited either. I'm 99.9% confident that you'll get the slipbox regardless of where you buy it (provided that the set is New)

As long as someone releases these, I would be fine. I don't mind Scream going into the double dips with the Warner films, but mix it up a bit. Give us titles that have never had a Blu-ray before. Both of the collectors edition for August are double dips.

Either way, I'm hoping we get something similar to what we would have gotten at Comic-Con.

Glad to hear about the next(possibly last) Universal Horror Collection Volume set, but I do wonder why Cult Of The Cobra isn't being released on its own like the other films it licensed from the two, 5-film DVD sets that I still have. I'm glad its getting released, but it sure would have been nice if those other six films had been released in these sets as well!

Or is it still possible that at least some(if not all) will? They are : Tarantula, The Mole People, The Deadly Mantis, The Monolith Monsters, Monster On The Campus, & The Leech Woman.

Kino Lorber already released both Doctor Cyclops & The Land Unknown. The Incredible Shrinking Man is still unannounced for some reason.

Going to have to grab The Phantom of the Opera CE and also the Universal Vol. 6 set since it has Shadow of the Cat in it.

I believe DukeTogo84 speculated that if Scream was planning to announce the Friday 13th set this week, it might be this Friday.

Sounds like a plan.

I've held out on the last 2 Universal Sets waiting for a decent price, but Volume 6 looks like the best since the first, so that one is going on preorder

Man, those Hammer films must be selling like crazy for Scream. Every month another one comes out of hiding. I find it hard to believe, but maybe they got a huge deal and paid almost nothing for each title. I guess if they sell a few thousand, they make a profit, hence churn out more...

Well, I think some of it is they needed a source of steady horror titles to release. Let's face it the well is getting dry. A lot of the best stuff has already been released. Only so many catalog titles you can mine for and deals to be made plus other labels looking for the same things.

I still feel like IF Scream Factory are the ones putting out the Friday set that a potential release won't come until September or October and that any such release won't be announced until July as it was likely a part of the Comic-con batch.

Since the Universal sets seem to be exhausted and have been great sellers (obviously), maybe Shout can make a deal and put out some ""Warner Bros. Horror Collections" with films like...

Freaks (1932)
Dr Jekyll and Mr. Hyde (1931)
Mark of the Vampire (1935)
Mask of Fu Manchu (1932)
Doctor X (1932)
The Return of Doctor X (1939)
Mad Love (1935)
The Devil-Doll (1936)
The Beast with 5 Fingers (1946)
Attack of the 50 Ft. Woman (1958)
The Black Zoo (1963)
Trog (1970)

And whatever else they could get their hands on...

^^Sounds like a great idea to me. But don't forget the 1941 version of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, a worthy remake with a great cast including Spencer Tracey, Ingrid Bergman and Lana Turner.
