I must have been in a fuc$in bubble all day.. Just placed my order with Shout, as I have to have the posters. Swag is good!! BTW, on checkout, the only shipping option was Free. I actually wanted to upgrade my shipping. Was there another way to do that?

I'm curious about the TV-versions of the Friday movies? Are they never before seen scenes or just the deleted footage already available as extras?

Probably in a matter of months.

...and I will buy them.

...and I will still hold on to this Scream Factory set of standard Blu-rays.

...just as I am still holding on to my tin box and my Paramount 8-film set.

Friday the 13th films are cool. I used to poke fun of them in a good-natured way, although I've always loved them, but, the more slasher films that I accrue in my collection, the more I realize that the Friday the 13th movies are honest-to-goodness good films.

I was really hoping for another Hammer announcement, but I can bide my time for that.

Scream Factory swung for the fences in October, and they hit it out of the park.

In the same vein as the Halloween TV cuts - dubbing, deleted scenes and alternate footage to hide the nudity.

Oh it can still be scalped, but most scalpers don't see the long game, they want to get rich quick.

Had no idea there was an issue with confirmation emails til I realized I haven't received one yet and I ordered it like 2 hours ago. I'm guessing they're real busy right now

I'm wondering if Paramount will allow those version to be add? The only studios who's given SF the TV-edits has been Universal as far as I can remember....

I don't know who will ultimately have the best price, but there are only 6,000 copies, or less, that are currently earmarked for non-direct sales. I think you'll run a very strong risk of being left without, if you try ordering through Amazon. The window of opportunity to place an order will either be very narrow, or they'll oversell their allotment and won't be able to fulfill every order they've taken, come October. I wouldn't trust any non-direct retailers, other than Diabolik or possibly Grindhouse Video, not to oversell their allotments.

i was never going to scalp one, i wasn't sure i got charged for the 1st order so i placed another one on shout using amazon pay. Right after i saw I got charged for the 1st one , and i don't need two sets and i don't want to pay over 300 for 2 of them
Also when I do sell stuff, I hold on to them and play the long game, but this set was just for me.

Only greedy scalpers get mad at that type of crap. And i'm glad whenever they get screwed.
Oh its not like that. I'd never sell anything in my collection. The issue is not making the set more available by pressing more. Its advertising something as a limited edition to drive demand (Litho and the poster) and then make it not so limited. They only ordered more posters to be able to keep the price high because traditionally when the poster sells out they drop the price.

I'm more concerned about the price.
And yes I could just order elsewhere I guess.

ok. it was announced. and the art is so much better than the tin. why didn’t they do the cover art for the tin like they have on this set? and i would love a 3D version. but not at that price.

i personally don’t care about the new scans. there aren’t films made by artists. it’s not argento or bava or carpenter. i don’t think a new scan is going to be revelatory. we know what it is already.

i don’t have an objection to the price from the sense in that if i didn’t have the tin already, i would preorder that box right now. but i already have the tin. so i’m out for the double dip.

i also can’t believe that paramount has always done such a shitty job with packaging. back to the “from crystal lake to manhattan” dvd set which i think was their only attempt at a boxset. and i remember correct, they only issued the first four as standalone dvds. so i never even bought that set.

i hope this makes a ton of money of them so we get can some more obscure stuff later on.

4k scans from the original camera negative usually are revelatory. Take a look at the recent release of Fulci's Zombie if you want to see a perfect example.

I'm gonna buy the F13 set, no doubt. I've never been one of the 'bling' so I'll probably get the cheaper one without the posters.
I'm on the fence tho...the poster and litho look dope.

I caved and bought this but really dont think I want the whole set. Wonder if I could sell part if it to recoup some of the cost. I know it sounds odd but I just wanted some of the later movies in individual releases.

All 8 films have had a couple standalone DVD releases, though only 1-4 have had standalone Blu-Ray releases, to date. 1-4 have always been more of a pressing concern for Paramount than 5-8, probably because sales and rentals of the first four have always been better than those of the second four.

Reading all this talk of the set selling out is making me second guess my amazon.ca pre-order... we're talking $100 difference if I order it direct from Shout! or Diabolik, but if it's going to sell out then I'll have to bite the bullet.
