you're misunderstanding. no one is refuting scream released both. it's that they were both released at the same time.

Sorry, yeah, I just re-read it and checked dates, my mistake. Don't know why I misinterpreted that.

I think he might actually be referring to Lionsgate's solo release of the Producer's Cut.

So unless Paramount or WB or whoever plans to release any of the Friday the 13th titles in solo releases, the best bet is just to cough up for the full meal deal since standalones are not guaranteed.

No, I was mistakenly calling the standard 10 disc set as a re-release, I have since corrected my error. However, the point you stated (and I hinited at in my post still stands), it's unknown if stand alones are going to happen and if it does happen it could very well be lacking the content from the Scream Factory disc. The Miramax/Lionsgate release of Halloween 6 Producer's Cut was barebones.

Of course, the poor suckah that doesn't have any idea a new set is in the works is the one that gets screwed.

I think the tin set will probably start going up in value in a few weeks time. Anyone who wants to off-load their tin set is doing so now, but once the initial rush is over, they'll go back to being scarce on eBay.

paramount re-releasing the series later, either in single units or in another set, is likely. they still own many catalog titles that have never even gotten a DVD release, yet they've released many of their flagship titles over and over because the restoration is already finished and it requires minimal effort on their part. as for their re-releases not containing scream factory's newer supplements, that's almost a given.

I wonder, by comparison, just how many units of the tin set were produced.

I'm keeping my tin set. I think it'll keep most of it's value and maybe even command higher prices in the future because it's a tin. A lot of stuff gets re-released but most of it are lesser-quality packaging/material, plus the tin set still appeals to space-conscious collectors.

I plan on doing the same thing, but how long does it usually take to get my SF order refund credited back to my account?

We get it. You're not a fan of the franchise. No one is insisting you become a fan. Like what you like. However, Friday the 13th is one of the most popular horror franchises of all time. It REALLY shouldn't be a stretch to figure out why talk about the new set has been dominating the conversation.

Trust me, if SF were to announce Dawn of the Dead, it would be heavily discussed as well.

There’s a Comic Con at home event going on next week where we should get some announcements.

When I did it, SF was gone from my bank account and the money was replaced immediately, but then it was taken back out again and pending and I'm waiting for it to drop off. I'm expecting it to drop off by the weekend. Probably sooner.

With the tin people got it because there was no other choice if you wanted JGTH & JX on BD & JGTH isn’t even the uncut version. There was also problems with the book type packaging scratching discs (this happened to me as I watch 4 & 6 fairly often. Ended up selling & going with the single/2 pack releases). The tin has also already lost value compared to what it used to sell for just a few months ago. Also the tin itself is nothing really special looking IMO & can dent rather easily.

Order confirmed! Eager for the unannounced extras to be revealed. Hoping somehow we get a commentary for Part 2.

He's moaning about both, Dawn of the Dead having never had a definitive release as the Friday the 13ths have will be discussed even more so.

They haven't even returned my email yet requesting a refund. How did you do so, so quick?
