And now Event Horizon has been pushed back to January.

Whether that's good or bad, only time will tell. No official announcement about that either, just a release date change on Shout!'s website.

Unfortunately Shout has already announced that there will be no "New Title" Announcements during their Comic-Con Panel this year.

Shout prides themselves on their extras and finding participants (not to mention a crew to film/edit) and right now seems to be extremely hard for them, so I'm not surprised the well may be drying up for a few months. As I mentioned in the 'Event Horizon' thread, I would rather wait a few extra months for a movie to be released up to the standard that Shout has set, rather than them just released bare-bones discs or highly Degraded Zoom Interviews like BRAVO has been using to pad their shows recently...

Hey, that gives them more time to try to find the uncensored footage.

Delay's inbound:
  • How to Make a Monster - November 10, 2020
  • War of the Colossal Beast - November 10, 2020
  • Event Horizon - January 5th, 2021 - Collectors Edition

At this point I feel like Scream Factory should stop taking pre-orders if they can no longer come reasonably close to hitting their release dates. Tying up funds for 6 months is a bit excessive.

Given the sheer length of time that Event Horizon was delayed I certainly hope that is the case of what is going on. Most delays are only for a month or two. This title will have seen a nearly 6 month delay when all is said and done.

Nobody is forced to preorder. Even if you did and were unhappy with the delay, just cancel the preorder.
I had an order that I placed in October, from the UK, that just shipped today after several delays. It happens.

Right now, I'm just hoping Tales from the Darkside isn't pushed back again.

I'd rather have all that stuff delayed if it means Friday the 13th is on schedule.

Any update? I'm hesitant to cancel due to not knowing when I'll get my refund back.

I'm willing to put money on F13th not being released on Oct. 13.

For Event Horizon it makes sense, I mean really what's the point unless you have a bunch of extras ready not to mention footage.

For titles that have no Blu-ray just get them out. Then again I could care less for commentary or interviews with some film historian.

I wouldn't be surprised if that was a factor in some of the delays. I expect Friday the 13th is one release date they're striving to meet, or at the very least not delay it beyond a couple of weeks.

Doubtful, like I alluded to in my post, they are probably pulling all resources to get Friday out on time therefore delaying projects that won't make nearly as much monies.

Agreed. This one is def the priority over something like HOW TO MAKE A MONSTER.

Scream has announced they have only 500 copies of the set + lithograph editions remaining.

For those doing the math at home, they’ve sold a minimum of 6,500 copies thus far.

I don’t mind the Event Horizon delay if it means they’re trying hard to find the cut footage. If they’re just waiting for interviews & such then that sucks.

I preordered my copy of the Friday set through Amazon. Really hoping this doesn't get delayed, really looking forward to getting my hands on this set.

Guys, is there by any chance a list of Shout/Scream titles that are region free? I know Dirty Mary, Crazy Larry/Race with the Devil double feature is region free although it's listed as Region A on official website. What are some other titles? Thanks.

Yea. I was sort of freaking out because that second added withdrawal went from pending to taking the money out of my account, yet SF and Paypal had no record of a transaction from the next day. I was on the phone with Paypal and planning to contact my bank today, but it dropped off this morning and my bank balance is back to normal.
