Shout! Factory was releasing and/or upgrading Corman titles all throughout the nearly 2 year lawsuit (April 2018 - February 2020) between Corman and his sons.

I went to Wal-Mart on Tuesday and found Scream’s Candyman on sale for $9.96. I grabbed it instantly, of course it came without a slip. I assume Scream releases at Wal-Mart are not consistent, so YMMV.

I’ve got around a dozen steelbooks, from BB, Zavvi and overseas, that have been delayed several times. These are from various studios.
Blanket statements, never a good thing.

Most of the US boutique labels seem to have had a handle on their releases. Criterion, Arrow, VS, Kino, hell even Severin minus a few delays. We aren't talking about international shipping, so not sure why in the holy crap you brought that up. I love Scream, but it does seem like they are the label that has the most difficult time with COVID, unless they were already running into issues prior.

I wasn't talking about shipping delays. Vinegar Syndrome, Severin, Arrow, Blue Underground, Scorpion, Kino, Criterion all have robust, ongoing projects. Some titles may experience slight delays because of the pandemic but Shout seems to be the only company who, as far as we know, does not have anything to announce beyond F13 and the two October steels.

I’m sure they have projects in the pipeline. The F13 set has been and will continue to be a massive project, so it wouldn’t surprise me if that offset some potential releases for Nov/Dec.
Of course there’s that Covid thing that affects everyone differently depending on your location.
With all the October announcements I’m fine if that’s it for CY20, but I doubt it will be.

Hasn't Arrow publicly announced delays to various titles since this all started? I seem to recall the Jodorowsky and Tsukamoto box sets specifically getting bumped back a bit.

Not as far back as say, EVENT HORIZON, but those box sets were also announced well before EH, and so probably already closer to done before needing to be delayed.

I'd wager Arrow has had plans change and push back, just handled it differently as far as announcing etc.

Just like a couple years ago when everyone was hit by reduced disc production facilities. SF fumbled it by just sending out small batches of new releases as they got them (with late communication on the issue and no system of prioritizing older orders vs new), where as Arrow just outright delayed the release date of a couple titles (Like the LE CRIMSON PEAK) by a couple months.

That could be. I’m not big into Arrow, as they don’t put out a lot of content I’m interested in purchasing. The few titles I have bought over the years always seem to ship late from Amazon, even pre-Covid. So I just come to expect it whenever I happen to order Arrow product.

I did not see your other post concerning the cover art. However, as zbinks stated, the Corman lawsuit didn't affect them releasing or re-releasing product from the catalog, meaning that was unlikely a factor. Not to mention that it doesn't address the illogicality of paying money for a title with the intent to release it, and then deciding not to (effectively losing money in the process), nor does it address Wynorski's history of having done this sort of thing before.

Even when they denied a title was coming after getting leaked (specifically Hell Night), it was "officially" announced months later. It's been years at this point since Wynorski made his claims, and when you combine that with the other factors at play, in my opinion, it makes it more likely that SF were telling the truth, and they didn't have these titles planned.

The Tsukamoto set was delayed by a month due to an error on one disc during the replication process. Arrow initially said they were going to stagger announcements, but that only lasted one month. Ever since then they have been on fire with some of their best title announcements in a long time.

Personally, I wouldn't care too much about the delays if we had a timeframe for when the Dead Zone was coming out. That's a holy grail title and really wonder if it will get a 4K remaster.

Your confusing the difference between a licensing and owning a film or catalogue. The Corman films that SF released or re-releasing during that time were part of their original licensing deal and would not be effect by the lawsuit. The lawsuit only effected the films that was part of the whole Corman catalogue that SF had just acquired during that time, not the Corman films attached to their prior licensing deal.

Hell Night and F13th is a licensing deal film, so whether the news of the film is leaked, SF is going to put those films out regardless because they only have limited amount of time (5 -10 years) before they lose the license.
SF owns the Corman film catalogue and they can do whatever they want with the films.......

Now I'll point out again that I was gently ribbing the previous posters comment with stuff said on this board for the last 2 years about SHM2/Hard To Die and Wynorski even after it was proven false. The only thing I believe is that once the lawsuit with the Corman Family happened, it probably caused delays with a bunch of Corman films that they had just acquired until the lawsuit was settled. I do not actually believe that SF would be vindictive in withholding a film!!!!

Wynorski also pumped a release of THE LOST EMPIRE (1985) years before it surfaced on a strange, semi-pro DVD label.

His announcements are about as reliable as James Cameron's "predictions" about releasing a Blu-ray of THE ABYSS.

There was a BD-r from the same company that I think dropped the extras.

Someone I know saw an online post, reportedly from Scream's Facebook, that BRIDES OF DRACULA is being worked on. Not exactly an official announcement, but thought I'd mention it.

It's also been said in a different forum that there will be two more "Men Who Made Hammer" featurettes, so that presumably signals another Hammer release or two.

The mention of Brides of Dracula excited me a bit, so I went to check Facebook's Scream and Shout pages. Could not find any mention of Brides of Dracula at all, and went as far back as April. Does anyone know anything about Brides of Dracula and Scream Factory or Shout Factory. I have just about given up on this release, seems to me that we would have heard something somewhere, but, nothing. Would absolutely love to see correct ratio release of this !

The lawsuit involving the Corman library sale to Shout & Ace Film was withdrawn by Corman's sons and dismissed with prejudice the same year it was filed, it had no effect on Shout releasing any films from their deal. The other lawsuit between him and his kids was unrelated and had been going on for over a decade.
